My three girls absolutely love....
1) dog food and dog treats. In fact, they've gotten so bad, I've had to sneak treats for my dogs into the backyard, quietly call the dogs, and hurriedly pass out a couple treats before one of the girls comes to find me to see what I'm doing. If they catch me passing out treats to the dogs, boy... am I sorry. So are the dogs, who get pecked and chased away from their own dinner.
2) Fish sticks. My 3-year-old was helping me with the chores outside one day, and had three fish sticks in his little fist, munching on them as we went along. Thankfully, the girls kept a respectful distance and didn't bother him too much, but once he noticed them following him all around the yard, and he began throwing them the fish sticks.... it was on. They follow him around everywhere whenever he comes outside now, looking up at him hopefully and gently nibbling and pecking his pockets, as if silently begging for another fish stick.
3) Crickets!! I was in the pet store with my younger brother last winter, while he picked up some food for his guinea pigs, and I got to looking at the big tub of crickets they had and began to think, "The girls sure would like some bugs, since we have all this snow everywhere and it's slim pickin's for now..." Boy, did they! I nearly lost a finger or two when I called them over and passed out the crickets. Finally, I got tired of being accidentally bitten and I tossed the remaining crickets into the snow... you should have seen them running everywhere, crashing into each other at one point, while attempting to gobble up every last one!
4) And finally, they absolutely love... chicken.
I found this out by accident only a couple of weeks ago. I can't eat chicken myself anymore, but my mother and younger brothers had been eating some fried chicken when we visited them. I was given some to take home to my husband. My 3-year-old stole a piece and I heard laughter and squeals of delight from the porch. When I investigated, I found him gleefully watching the hens nearly trampling each other in a desperate effort to be the one to gobble up the last bit of fried chicken leg. Me - >
