If you want I can get a picture of the part he built. It works really great. The only downfall is you have to have a vehicle. We'll get a canopy for the watermelon festival because you can't leave your truck there.
I re-read the info and I have to park horizontaly. So I would be selling from the side of the van and not the back. So I guess its back to the drawing board. I am looking at a 9x9 tent but it looks like it might be a pain if there aren't two people. It will only be me there except on the first day. I need to figure a way to do this by myself.
I would like to start by saying I LOVE THIS PLACE, and you are all so talented.
Thank you to the ones who have taken your time to answer the questions of a newbie, you have all been so kind!
I am going to make my first batch of soap this weekend with my DD ..so wish us luck LOL.
I love seeing the pics of your soaps they are all great! I would love to see pics of how you package your soap and the labels that you use. Looking forward to lots of soaping!!!!!
I'm sure that your soap will be great and I'll be waiting for pics to
I made a Eucalyptus soap last night. My head cold is so bad I couldn't even smell it
I was hoping it would get through but it never did. I'll be unmolding at the earliest late this afternoon.
I was reading up on my FM rules and it sayd that you can unload your stuff and then go park your car at one of the municipal parking lots. They give you an hour in the morning to set up and half an hour at the end. At 1pm they shut down the market so that vendors can break everything down and they give ou half an hour to do that. I'm wondering if they let you go and get you car so you can load everything up. It doesn't say anything about that in the rule thingy. I would think they do since the only give you half an hour.
Buckhorn Farm- Can't wait to see you first soaps. What recipe are you using?
CW- Do you have a market director that you can ask your questions? Ours is pretty simple. It's in a parking lot and we all pull into two lines and set our tables up infront of the back of our trucks. The Wednesday market is a little different, We set up under a pavillon so you have to park you car.
I hope you start to feel better soon. Head colds suck.
Morgaine - That is great! Congrats on doing so well.
BF - My DH thought I was too till I got an order from a local beach resort, now the orders are trickling in and I have some of the soap that is curing presold. He fully supports me joining a local FM which I never thought he would (costs to join) but he's starting to see the potential a hobby is turning into. He does like the fact that I don't spend money on soap, shampoo/conditioner, or laundry soap/fabric softener any more - I make it all.
Here are pictures of the two most recent batches.
Georgian Apple Orchard:
Didn't unmold well (think I needed to wait longer), but I will cut it up for samples.
And still playing with names...
Thinking Camper's Secret Weapon or Woodman's Delight..not sure. But it was made for the dogs originally...lol. It's for repelling fleas, ticks, mosquitoes, flies. I use the oils in a spray and in a rub on oil, and they works well for not just the dogs but us too.
