Soap Makers Help!

I didn't get to finish my first post, hit enter too soon and then power flicked off.

Anyway, I sold most of my soap in the second hour, none in the last. Almond was by far the biggest seller. I sold 11 bars. Cucumbermelon and Lemon Verbena also did ok. I think almond will have to be a staple, it always seems to do well. Do you have any almond CW? If not you might want to look into it. I got this one from Wholesale supplies plus, but I just switched to Essential oil university's Bitter almond FO and I personally like it better. Less cherry cough drop smell.

Here is a picture of the dog soaps as I had planned them.

They are lighter in colour than the "log" molded ones and I like the log ones in colour better so I may just do them that way from now on.

The color difference is mosr likely from the log gelling and the other molds not. Personally I much prefer gelled soaps. I experimented with a few small batches not gelling and it took a couple of days before the soap stopped zapping and about two weeks longer to cure completly. Once cured it was still soap, but I think that I could feel a difference. Colors also turn out more vibrant in gelled, imho.

I don't have any almond but I will look into that.

As far as the lotion goes. Gazinga made lotion and it was going to be swapped in the soap swap but they got to Smoms house the day after the soaps got mailed to everyone. So far no lotion though.

Almond has been a very good seller. And from most places it is a cheaper scent to use. A couple of places have an Almond Milk and Honey which sounds tempting to me, but I haven't tried it yet. Backyard Buddies sent me a slice of her almond joy bar and it smells heavenly. I think she said she used Brambleberry's cybilla Almond.

I got my scent works order and they sent me to sniffies. One was blue sugar and it was surprisingly good. The other was Vintage Musk and I liked too but it's not my type of scent.

breconbcs - Nice job!

Morgaine - Sounds like your business is really doing well! I think that's fantastic!

Something funny here . . .
I'm making dinner right now and couldn't figure out why I couldn't find the turmeric for this recipe. I kept riffling around in my pantry, looking high and low (I have them alphabetized and still couldn't find it!) . . until it dawned on me that I used it up coloring soap!

Yes, I did use the Brambleberry Cybilla Almond for that recipe. It also had just over 8% cocoa butter and a swirl of cocoa powder that may have contributed a little to the scent as well.

Oh goodie! I also have a Scent Works order coming in a few days. The last time I ordered from them, it was also right after you had received yours, Morgaine. We both got the same sniffies that time so perhaps it'll be the same this time as well.

What did you order this time from them? I ordered more of the Yuzu and also a blood orange scent that got good reviews at the scent review board. The citrus scents sell VERY well, so I thought I'd give that one a try since I didn't yet have any orange scents in the line. I'd love to try an orange EO - Do you all recommend a particular one? I realize I'll likely have to use an anchor with it.
