Socializing/ excessive pecking

We hatch, raise for a couple of months then sell A LOT OF CHICKENS...
That means I am constantly pecked!
Patience for me is my trick.
I will always grab and pick up the pecking little bird and hold it under my arm. Especially at feeding time when all it's buddies are chowing down And I won't let go of her and she sees I am the food God. I am the mama and the alpha. Doesn't work but I still do it. Haha! :)
I do believe major interaction is key to keeping any animal from going feral.
I have roos that befriended me and some breeder roos in quite and private breeding houses that try to Alfred Hitchcock me.
My big ole Moulted Java roo has drawn blood from me a few times. But he has earned his keep by bringing $$ to the farm so I let it slide.

Chickens are so cute and Calendar Picture Perfect when they are born but they are hardwired to be little monsters if they can get away with it.
Patience and no fear is my only advise.
Best regards,
FC
