As for it not lasting long, most PET soda bottles will last years in the environment.

I'm thinking that maybe one wall like that on my coop would give my chicks some sun and heat w/out baking them...or maybe a partial roof ... hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm i'm thinking - stand back this could be dangerous
