Some of my neighbors are wondering why...

Thanks, TexasJ. Yes, the osb is just the underlayment until I can side over it. I stained it with some deck stain to protect it for now, while finishing the trim work. Hope to side it in a couple of week - weather permitting. I'll post more pics as it progresses through the winter.
I figured you would add siding. Can't have all that fancy woodwork without siding of some sort :)

Yes sir that's the way it goes but it makes a great project and you'll enjoy it for along time I'm looking at different pulls and handles to make the coop unique I found some that are egg colored and almost look like eggs well it 27 degrees now think I'm going to head out and tough it out back to work for me ttyl

Yes - I like doing the trim work. I hope not to get too carried away on the inside, but one thing tends to lead to another. ;)
Make sure you put nice pin ups of some roosters to encourage your hens to lay ;)

Better add more ventilation if you do that. Those hen's will get the place all steamy.

Thanks for the info. I think we'll go mail order. We're looking to order from at Murry McMurray Hatchery in Iowa. If I have to pay for 6 I will, but can only have 4. Maybe the ordinance will change in time. :-/

If you're ordinance only allows for 4 birds, I would NOT order from MM. Their minimum order is 25 chicks (at least it was the last time I ordered from them). My Pet Chicken will ship as few as 3 peepers, so you could get just the 4 you're wanting. If it were me, I'd get 5 or 6 in case you loose some, and if you don't loose any their super easy to rehome. Good luck on your new chicken adventure :D

Thanks for the info. Yes, I discovered that, when trying to order last night. I saw their min as 15. We ended up ordering 4 from Meyer Hatchery in OH. You would recommend 5 or 6? I am concerned about them coming through the mail. I this the reason for loosing a chick or two. The first time I heard you can mail order them, I could hardly believe it.
