We are considering getting silkies in the spring this year. I really love how fluffy they are!

You won't regret it. They are just such beautiful birds. And besides that, they have the sweetest temperaments. I handle mine from the time they pop out of the egg and they are so very tame. I let them out of the coop every morning and they stroll over to my house and hang around my gardens.

Really? I'd love to see her. My girl is a Golden Laced Wyandotte.

Fun fact about them: Most silkies don't perch, but sleep in a pile on the ground!

You are so right. I even made low perches for my flock and they flat refuse to perch. I have a big box (besides the nesting boxes) that they all bundle into at night. So cute!

Yes, that is before she went broody. She's broody right now and sitting on one egg. Today is day 20!!!!!! And I candled the egg, there's a chick inside alright! I can't see very well because the chick is keeping the light from getting all the way through. I REALLY hope it hatches!
