Some sad looking polish, I think?

They are all Buff polish, you got 4 roosters 1 hen, and they all need some TLC.

Oh boy, they need a lot of care. Poor babys. It sounds that you will bring them back up.

Check The hen for bubble foot, look that up here on byc, you will get a lot of great info.

Those feathers yikes, dust them up with some mite powder. For there crest dont dust with powder, what you do is mix vassaline with some mite powder and ab that in the crest in a few different spots.

in a couple of days you can bath them in Apple cider vinnager water.
if you coop them outside, blow dry them so they are all dry.

they look like they need to be warmed up, when a chicken is down and sick they need heat.

Thats "bumble foot"...and it would present like a small black or dark callus on the bottom of the foot. If you have it, then research it fully here before doing anything; its a staph infection and is hard to deal with. I unfortunately have lots of experience with it.
They look alot like houdans to me with those spikey tops...google houdans....they are a type of polish.
To me, everyone is a hen till someone crows;-)...or attacks me with those spikes! But then, Im in denial about having too many roos;-)

It actually looks like they've been crammed into a small area for an extended period of time. No room to even groom. Occasional food and water. Poor conditions. With some food and care and fresh water and some room to stretch, they should look good real quick! You're a very caring person to take them in.

I bought a packet of Duramycin 10 at Tractor Supply (Tetracycline hydrocloride soluble powder). I was going to add it to the chickens water once a week, one T to a gallon of water, to maintain health of chickens. Why does the package say not to use with laying hens.
I have never wormed my chickens. Should I do that and how often?

I have Polish chickens from McMurray Hatchery. My hens look very similar to the roos - only the wattles were much different.

All the advice posted so far sounds like the way to go. Sometimes when you get chickens that need TLC, there is nothing more than a bath, warm clean home, good food, clean water, and love to do the trick. Lots of fresh tasty things will get them eating and putting on weight.

People call me crazy for this, but I also talk to my animals, and I believe it makes a difference. Tell them they are safe and will be taken care of, etc.

Yea you for taking them on!

They do that with alot of meds mainly because there's not much research done with chickens and eggs and meds. I tend to ignore alot of it, but that's me and I'm not telling you what to do

They look to me like they need to be wormed (Wazine, one ounce in a gallon of water ), dusted with sevin or anything that kills mites and lice on chickens, some protein and vitamins. Maybe a bath. I have buff laced. My girls are really nice and sweet. And the Duramycin sounds pretty good too. Check for any respiratory problems, like snotty nose, coughing, etc.

A great thing to do onna daily basis for there immune system, respitory system ect... is put Apple cider viniger in there water daily.

and as a good treatment to prevent respitory promblems is, 2 or 3 garlic cloves ( crushed) in 20 ml apple cider viniger in a quert of water. for one week straight , then go to just the acv in the water for the remader of the month, and repaet every month.

also a good home remedy for worms is Cayan powder with crushed garlic cloves, mix in the water or food.

LOL, You are not crazy, or we all are crazy, we talk like crazy to our chickens, i even hug them give them kisses, and some love it.

Thanks for all of your great advice. I bathed them first thing when I brought them home. I will be checking for mites tonight and making a list for stuff at tractor supply tom. I think it funny someone mentioned bumble foot because just today it crossed my mind, on the bottom of her foot it is cracked and dark looking. and still swollen and warm. I felt all over her foot and I can't seem to feel anything broken. I am gonna try and find some reading on bumblefoot but please if anyone knows a good thread please point me in the right direction. Thank you all, for the great ideas, I will have them back to health. I have them inside in my bathroom right now. LOL
