To me as long as the dog was being carried it shouldnt matter.

There is a country. I cant remember which. That allows dogs in almost every public place and store. Not just tiny dogs. Were talking full sized dogs. And it is a big city. I sure wish I could remember where it was. I always wanted to go there. And the thing is. All the dogs are around each other. And they are so much more well behaved. And they rarely have a dog fight in public there.

A service "animal" i will not say dog's any more because of the fact that servrel animals can be trained for the job, When in Service they must have papper proving there services, some will have vest and some will have a harness with there i.d card on it........here's a unknow fact.......it's called Bellas bill it was pushed and passed in to law by sharon mcconnell......if your dog were to attack a service dog and it requires retraining because of the attack you are responsable for the retraining of that service dog..... i spent many of my summers in maine with sharon, and watched her lose her sight slowly over the years ( she's about 9 years older then me) . she is the most amazing person i've ever met in my life.....she might of lost her sight but her sense of humor was there.....and a great sculpter

I take my dogs to stores where they are allowed. TSC around here allows them into the store, my fiances work (radio?tool shop) and of course pet stores. I would NEVER take them into a store where there is food!!! I have had someone at TSC aproach me and tell me that their child is allergic to dogs (severly allergic... she was already getting wattery eyes) and that they felt bad about asking but could we move farther away. They needed down the isle that I was in. I told them I was sorry and they didn't need to feel bad. Now way was I gonna make that little girl sick!!!!

Just last week I saw someone with a dog in a purse and told the store manager. He said since he didn't see the dog he couldnt do anything. I picked up a package of flu meds on top of my allergy meds and got behind them in line. I started acting like I was sneezing and put the medd on the belt. The lady looked at me and said eewww you have the swine flu get away. I said nope just allergic to your mutt get the stupid thing away from me. She got soooo mad. (I know I am mean). She ended up leaving without her stuff.

No offense to anyone here on this board, but you can remind people about allergies and religious beliefs until you're blue in the face. People just don't care

They don't CARE if someone has a severe allergy attack because Foo Foo wanted to pick out her own can of food. And they don't care that some cultures would just walk right out because it's so offensive to them that they couldn't buy the food there anymore because of dog hairs and such. Everyone has limits and unfortunately some people only care when their own limits have been pushed past the line

And unfortunately, all of us want to be understood, but not many care to understand.

Personally, I think it's great that some people can bring there dogs with them when they run errands and stuff. My dogs love to ride in the car or truck as well. And I love seeing people interact with their dogs, but they don't belong where food is. Of course, service animals belong almost everywhere, and they should be.

Hi! Well here is one for you experts...
If 'by law', you aren't allowed to question an individual whether their dog is a 'service dog', then what stops anyone from walking in any place with their non-service dog? Just because they can? That seems counter-productive.
I agree that a service dog should be allowed anywhere in public.
The fact that one can't question the validity of an animal that may (or may not) be a service dog without repercussions, kind of opens the door for everyone to bring Fido to sit under the table every time they eat out.
