I thought that service dogs were adults by the time their training was finished. Wouldn't they already have to be obedience trained (not jumping on people) to be certified? Just wondering.

I think everybody is either missing the point or don't want to get it. Leave them at home, what's so wrong with that. Now you take the little pet ornament with you everywhere where someone is bound to confront you and possibly cause a stir. Are people that weak minded that they can't walk away from a squaking dog when leaving the house. I like dogs don't get me wrong, but sheeesh there there is a line to cross here.

Amen, AL! The only place my hounds go with me is to the swimming hole in the river or to somewhere specifically for dogs...which does not require sitting IN a car anywhere, except for the gas station, nor entering a place of business.

BUT, if for some reason I should have to enter a gas station on our dog oriented destination, and leave the mutts in a car with the windows cracked sufficiently on a temperate day...I DO NOT want some busybody calling the law on me. Just silly! A dog is a dog is a dog....not a human baby who cannot be left alone in the car.

Good analogy a dog is a dog an animal and in some cultures food.
american natives used them as livestock. They dont have manners or social skills so leave em at home .

I would say...if the store took the sign down and the clerk had no problem with it, it's one of those MYOB things. If it bothers you muchly, you could just not patronize that particular store anymore. Turning around and telling the woman about it is not really your job nor your concern, unless the dog was hurting or inconveniencing you in some way.

I'm not an animal lover person, by any means, but I do like it when folks mind their own business about minor, nonharmful-to-them kind of things. In the big picture, was it worth taking the time to confront a stranger and call the corporate office?

It is the law and the stores policy not to non-service animals in a grocery store. You miss my point. I have minded my own business and held my tongue too long. Obviously, you don't live in a city were people taking their dirty, ungroomed rascals into almost every store. This dog was not clean. He had no collar and looked like she had just picked him up off the street.

Why should I avoid a store that is just a few blocks away and been going to for over 18 years? She has no right to infringe on my rights or anyone else. Did you not read these posts. Some people have serious allergies to dogs. They can easily go into shock just been in line with a dog. Also, some people have serious religous rules that prohibit them from buying in a store were a dog has been.

It is hurting a lot of people!!!

I think you missed where I clearly stated when she's on trips. My mother does not have a little pet ornament that squawks. Or perhaps you meant to direct your post at someone else? Either way, I accept your future apology.
