Something Fishy - a thread for fish owners

Awesome! Have fun!
Do you know what type of pleco?
No idea!! I would imagine a fairly common type. I tried to get a picture but the quality is terrible, he's been hiding. I don't blame him after the move 😊 he's about 5" long. This is a corner tank so it just didn't seem like enough room for him to get around, more height than length! But maybe changing up what's in the tank for decor will help. I wouldn't even know where to begin to re-home a fish 😂

My fish are my favorite pets. Been keeping fish for 17 years now and will always have a tank or 2 or 5. You know how it goes....one fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish...

Hmm, I don’t know, but it could be a common pleco which can grow to be 24”. I know there are other breeds that stay small. That’s what I’m looking for right now. I would check with your lfs, local fish store.

I have a pond and 6 running tanks. I also have14 empty tanks at the moment. Eventually our basement will be a fish room. This is my pondView attachment 2323134
And my favorite tank. View attachment 2323133
Oh and a couple pictures of my baby Bichir 😊View attachment 2323135View attachment 2323136
Ah! You have one?! Not many people do. Have you had them before?
Very nice pictures. I really need to try and take a good picture of my tanks. I do have pics of my bichirs. Can’t believe I haven’t posted them before.

He’s my first. I’d like to get more once my fish room is set up.

I currently have 2 active tanks. One 5 gallon betta tank, and one 20 gallon community tank with a honey gourami, harlequin rasboras, cherry barbs, and a clown pleco.

We have two. Our Senegalus I think got stunted because he’s around two years old and still smaller than a hot dog. But, our Delhezi is around one year and as big as a bratwurst!
I’ve been desperately trying to find someone who actually knows anything about them. I even reached out to someone at the aquarium, but haven’t had a response. I think I’ll give them a call sometime. I would love to see some more research about them.
Sorry about all these fish you lost. How long did you have them? Bettas can live for 5 years.
About 6 mos., except for stinky & feisty. Stinky lived for over two years and came down with something I couldn’t identify. Feisty sadly passed because I was messing with his tank and accidentally released a nitrogen bubble. That was the last time I kept one in a “traditional” betta tank. I really hate those things. They’re so cute and small and fit just about anywhere. Which is bad for a fish tank.
