So, OS contains calcium. If you put it on the side, the hens will lonely eat as much OS as they need. If you mix it in, they wont be paying attention to how much they need, and will just be eating. That will cause them to overeat the OS, resulting in issues caused by to much calcium.

Is that seriously a real egg!!?? Never seen anything like it.. must be a serious disease/condition your hen is in.

Nope, perfectly normal. Hens can lay some pretty weird looking eggs, this is just another odd one. The kidney bean shape is a first though.

Hey everyone... my little sister found this "fairy" egg today. normal shell and egg white inside. I don't care if she never lays an egg ever again, I just want her to be healthy and I want to know what's going on.

What's inside?

An egg white. Normal except it looked like it had sort of a thicker membrane around the white but if you poked it, it was just an egg white.

I know this is late but It could have just been a FART EGG
