My fiance had to send something to his solicitor (that's "Lawyer" to most of you, I think) yesterday. I just found out that he DID sent the relevent stuff, which is a good thing. But he also sent a free balloon with it

I can't help wondering what the solicitor thought when it arrived today though

(I've just been told he also sent a complimentary smiley face and that it was a rocket balloon, not just a normal one!)

does anyone else have a partner like this or is it just mine being unique?

Unless they have a personal relationship, or there was some specific reason which made it relevant, it would seem very odd to me for a client to send in frivilous things as part of business paperwork. Something doesn't smell right.
