It's o.k. to do that.

So i finally got my hands on this one: https://www.amazon.com/Safe-guard-F...uid+safeguard+for+goats&qid=1599428837&sr=8-5 , and after reading about it, people always say to put it in their water? Would it matter if i put it in her water instead of dosing her orally? It seems more simple, but i can see how since her case is very bad she should get proper doses immediately. Just curious? Thanks

Whatever you feel is the best method.

Please help!! This morning she was very very weak not even able to stand, I gave her the medicine orally and she barely even swallowed it, her crop is very enlarged much larger than it was before, it looks swollen. I noticed on the top of her crop next to her feathers and on my hands are little tiny bugs (mites i assume). I immediately syringe fed her egg and she did eat some of it but again, barely swallowing it. She stood up for a bit and took a few steps but layed down again. She is so weak and laying down with her eyes closed, breathing very slowly. I had to leave for the whole day yesterday and got home very late last night and this morning i found her like this. I’m so worried it looks like she isn’t gonna make it. :(

I'm sorry to hear she's not improving. It doesn't sound too good :(
She probably has a reproductive issue that is contributing to her decline, but it's hard to know unless you lose her and necropsy is performed.

Sometimes all you can do is treat symptoms and see if that helps. I would not necessarily push food if the crop is still not emptying, but work on keeping her hydrated taking care that she doesn't aspirate.

I too would suspect she's got a crop issue since it feels like memory foam (doughy maybe?). Likely the crop issue is a symptom of an underlying condition since she doesn't lay eggs anymore.
I have found that hens that have reproductive problems (which I'm guessing is your hen's main problem) can have crop issues due to inflammation, cancer or matter in the abdomen or the reproductive system. Sometimes I can give supportive care and the hen does do well for several months.

Thank you for all the help and guidance. She sadly passed away last night. I think she just had too many problems all at once which she couldn’t handle. It’s very sad, she was one of my favorite hens.. But at least she isn’t in pain anymore.
