You can wait til dark and go place her...my d'Uccles are the worst about roosting just any where. They want to roost out in their run where's theres no weather protection. They'll just sit/sleep in the rain. I use to have to go out everynight and move them back to their coop. I had to adjust the ladder in the run so it's not up high and now they actually go to the coop on their own.OK I have a question. I had silkies mixed in with my d'uccles. Well I separated out the silkies to their own coop. However my silkies do not roost--they huddle on the ground. Apparently one of my d'uccles was huddling with them. Now that the silkies are gone she sits on the ground by herself. Everyone else is up on the roost(the other 4). I think there is room--it might be a bit crowded on the roost but I think she would fit. Should I put her up on it? Should I just wait and see if she figures it out?
Well to me it sounds like the humidity may be to low or way to high. Do you check your humidity right before lockdown?I have a question for all of y'all I see where y'all are hatching chicks left and right I have tried and tried I candle them on day 21 and see movement yet zero hatch what am I doing wrong. I just lost 15 splash and blue marans and blue wheaten ameraucanas cuz I suck at hatching. That one reason I'm lookin for silkies
OH and also I always leave my eggs in the bator til day 24. I have had some hatch on this day and as early as day 18.I have a question for all of y'all I see where y'all are hatching chicks left and right I have tried and tried I candle them on day 21 and see movement yet zero hatch what am I doing wrong. THis is my opinion only...on day 17 I turn one last time and candle them. Then LOCKDOWN. I like for my humidity to be at 40-60ish just not toooo low, any higher and they can actually drown in the shell. When they start to hatch the humidity WILL jump cause of all the moisture in the eggs. After they start hatching I always leave them in there about 1-2 days til they look dry(ish). And I leave the eggs in there 24(ish) days.Someone once told me to candle on day 21 if there dead ones take them out and lidityeave the good ones. Also I can't get my humidity up very high. 60% if I'm lucky I have a used hova bator I tryed plugging both holes only one hole and also tryed a extra bowl of water in there. Today is day 22. Should I just put them in there on day 18 and leave alone till day 25 just in case? I have thought humidity was a problem but not sure how to get it higher
