Joycats,

I've been thinking of getting a FEW BLACK Jersey Giants to add to my flock......BUT, I'm way out here in New Mexico. Perhaps, in the future, IF you have some eggs that are likely to hatch-out black, we might be able to make a "deal" on shipping me about a half-dozen fertile eggs. ?????

Joy,
I told Yancy that you were holding out on us when I found out you had JGs! Of course, he definitely wants blues.
I am getting some blue Wyandottes in, too in case he wants any of those and he has already said he wants some of those SLWs. In no time at all he will be selling his place and buying a big farm!

I am so glad those BLRWs are out and showing you what for!

They have been healthy little buggers for me. I have another bloodline hatching tomorrow. I hope I get some darker pullets. I have such light ones now.

theoldchick, I doubt I will sell any extra JG chicks out of what is growing up but I may have a hen or 2 that I can let go. Some are my pets but I have a few that could care less about me and have nothing interesting to talk with me about so they can probably live somewhere else.
I sure love these big old girls. I know I will always have some running around and if we have a blue roo I will probably hang on to him for a breeding pen.
Goodness knows I need another breeding pen!

How exciting to find Black JG's so close to home! They sound perfect! I'll contact you when the hen house is completed.

Sounds great, just let me know when you're ready.

Amy Nadine, give my website a look over sometime when you have a chance. I finally got all of the breeds I keep listed on there (at least I don't think I've left any out). I'm working on getting pictures of everybody up, but loading pics is so time consuming and my patience is a little on the short side.

Anyway, I do have quite a variety. And my wish list is even longer.

I am trying to decide who has the most chickens.....Joy or Amy.

Both of ya have a LOT
big_smile.png
I guess Joy can be the SC Chicken Duchess since Amy is the SC Chicken Queen

And both of you should stop trying to get me in trouble and make me have a lot too!

OMGGGGGG I love all my chickens..

...although I do have a Buff Orp roo that is going to be dinner one day......He is a sweetie...but too red in my opinion. Todd won't feed him inside the run because he tries to jump up on the bucket
big_smile.png
(eta: Biscuit the roo tries to jump on the bucket, not Todd

)

I know Todd will let me have SLW hens!

He does not like my roo but he does like the hens

I will not even get started on my wish list. I have to keep it secret so Todd does not find out. He seems to not mind me tracking down eggs, but does not like me bringing chickens home.

Go figure!

Kimberly - LOL, silkies don't count as chickens (in my opinion). They're just fluffy pets, like bunny rabbits.

I'm not competing with anybody, just fighting my own addiction. Amy can hold the title, I try to fly under the radar.

But I like to share, so anytime I can help someone else with their personal chicken addiction is okay with me. How did you do in the show? Did you learn anything new, did any of your birds place? Haven't heard the news, sorry if it's been posted and I missed it.
