It's a hard thing to find a good home for roosters. But if you post here the breeds, ages, and where they came from, you might find someone who needs them.

Hello SC!
I already posted this on the re-homing thread, but it occurred to me to check my state thread and saw this post.

I've got two Silkie roos, 18 weeks old, blue/black free to a good home.
I'm in upstate SC, York County.

Say hello to Monty and Moe!

Lakenvelder? They normally are not that big....
Not sure. Someone else told me it's possibly they could be Columbian Plymouth Rocks, but I'm pretty sure they're more than one breed now (friend told me when she got them the guy said they were mixed, so yeah). Honestly, that's our biggest right there. His brothers are half the size and seem to have slowed down growing, so I think Jiggles is just jumbo by design xD On the Brightside, my brother has come to the rescue and decided to take one of the roo's off my hands, so that makes me happy!

Hello to everyone! So glad to find this thread! We are new to chickens. We are in greenville/Powdersville area.!! We have 6 red sexlinks & 6 silkies! We were suppose to originally have 4 chickens rotfl...we are addicted now!

55 holy cow! Wish we had room for that many ..one day hopefully !Lol I kno your right! I'm probably going to look at some more next week! I want some more silkies !! I'm crazy about them!!

For those of you who live in greenville county I have a question . Are roosters allowed?? We are not in the city limits. I've tried looking up the ordinance but it's as clear as mud to me..lol. Any info is greatly appreciated . Thanks

I'm looking for silkie chicks to add to my lil silkie flock if anyone close by has any. Would love to jus add pullets ,but not wanting them much older than my 9 week olds so i kno that' can be tricky w/ silkies !

If you are not in city limits it should be fine if you are in a development or an H OA, they might have their own restrictions. But if you are outside of city limits and do not have any property restrictions when you bought your place there should be no problems. I am in Spartanburg County, but I know quite a few people who have roosters in Greenville County. I have not heard of any problems.

I'm still hunting for a cream legbar pullet/hen or two for my lonely boy. I've had a couple people tease me with leads, but nobody has come through and it's frustrating. Does anybody have any or know of anyone with some for sale? I have no way to incubate eggs at the moment, so I need live birds. :)
