11 so far. Still a few pips workingCongratulations !!! Is it over? How many? I've been following you in the other thread.
Sounds really good. The ECO, or the Advance? That's two different incubators, but both are very good. How is your humidity doing at lockdown? A lot of people have trouble getting to 65% in an Octagon. I had to put a paper towel under the tray to wick moisture from the wells. It worked like a champ after that.Scflock, what are you hatching? I just locked down my incubator with the 4 mutt eggs. This is exciting, its my first time. Best I can tell, all 4 are developing as expected. I've been weighing them and we're running between 10-13% loss at day 18. I'm watching the himidy rise now. I'm using a Brinsea Eco-20 advance. I took all the divider bars out and laid them on their sides, all touching, expected pip sites up. Turner is off. (I've been referring to the hatching eggs 101 thread on here for instructions.) Everything sound okay so far?
I do the same thing. If I top it off on day 19 I usually don't have to add any more water unless the hatch stretches past day 22. That's my only complaint with the Brinsea. The pump would take care of that, but for $140 I'll stick with the paper towel and syringeI've got the Advance, sorry. I stuck a sponge in there while I was doing my last weigh-in. I've got a small length of tube that I can attach to a syringe, which I'm able to snake through the vent hole, past the wiring, to squirt my sponge or siphon water from the wells to adjust as necessary. I'm currently at 65% with a soaking wet sponge.

if you sell a lot of chicks, you can justify the expense. If I were just hatching for fun, I wouldn't have spent the money on it, but 3 hatches will pay for it. With the hours I work, I just needed something that I could plug in and walk away from, and you can do that with the Brinsea. I also keep it running at least 10 months out of the year, so the two-year warranty is nice. It is also extremely simple to clean.I started my first hatch on the day yours started pipping, January 21st. 14 Silkies and 2 BO crosses. I'm envious of you guys with Brinsea incubators.

I am curious to hear the review on the farm innovators. I have seen those, but I haven't talked to anybody that has used one
There's a thread on BYC on this incubator. Everything seems to be working good. Maintains a steady temp and humidity. I called the manufacturer and they were very helpful. There is a variation in temp from egg level to top but I guess that's ok as long as they stay constant which appears so. I've got tubes running thru vents and use a basting syringe to add water so I don't open it often. What days to you candle?
