I'm really worried. It's supposed to get down to 55 degrees and the chicks are outside. Under a heat land and momma. Do you think they will be alright?

Probably but if you're worried you can always pull them back in for the night.

I don't even put heat on my pen broodies unless it gets below freezing. Mama knows what she's doing

Something I haven't considered.... I have a relatively small yard, well fenced in about 6'. And I plan on allowing my three maybe four birds to free range my backyard, just now realizing that I will have to start a education process for my chocolate lab and German shepherd. So I probably won't be going with those expensive breeder quality birds just yet. Maybe a few from friends to start with just in case....

Well, most of my eggs are incubated or sold, but I have some regular customers that I could get to hold EE shells for me. I won't be hatching AMs for the next month or so, but I could do some fertility checks

I think I can accommodate that. Are you wanting as many as you can get, or as many colors as you can get? Have you figured out a way to genetically engineer lacing into the blues?
