As many colors as I can get. :)

Well, there are still two camps on the blue lacing and I'm thinking there is a point where they meet in the middle. I think we do need the combination of pattern genes - MI/Pg/Co, from the Andalusian to get true black lacing, but I'm still convinced we need to bring in black from time to time to sharpen the contrast. I've heard Andalusian breeders say the same. So...we'lll see. :)

I have EEs that lay a very pale brown. Is that a Sandcastles accepted color?

I'm looking to buy 2 Auracana's 4-6 month old hens or other blue egg layers to add to my flock. Anyone know of any availability near Walterboro?

I know there are several Ameraucana breeders scattered throughout the state, but I'm not sure who is still hatching. I am, but it will be a month or so before I have any more AMs. If you find some you like that are too far away to drive to, I recommend shipping live chicks. They handle shipping well before it gets too hot.
As far as getting older pullets, I'm not sure who has what. If you are just wanting pretty eggs, then you could also search for Easter Eggers. They aren't standard bred birds for show, but they make for a really pretty egg basket.

All of my blues are pale, I'm hoping that is something I can learn to improve. I do get a nice variety of green from my EEs, from pale to almost olive

Pale is fine...and all shades of green are good, too :)

Let me know what you have, or will have over the next couple of weeks, and I'll plan a trip to get them, or meet you..or something. lol

I don't have the setup to handle chicks so I need ones that can survive cohabitation with my older birds. Easter Eggers would be fine. I'll keep looking but please let me know if you hear of any available. Thanks.

Hey CHenry! I'm in Abbeville. Your feed store chick is probably a EASTER Egger which is an Ameraucana cross. They are great chickens. There's a heritage Dominique breeder in Anderson and you shouldn't have any trouble finding RIR. Check Craigslist.
