I hate to see all of that. Looks like some work. This storm had me messed up with work in a few places, but the home front did well. I had a chicken coop tossed, but it was empty. I had just moved it out for some gowers this weekend. Ironicly it was the first "tractor" I built and it is to heavy to move practically.

Wow! Nadine, glad your chickens are all right and there wasn't any non-repairable damage! The wind knocked down one of our plastic play houses-probably some trees in the woods. My gardens look great and so does the chicken pen.

We went to TSC today, didn't get chicks- all they had were RIR's. I did get raspberry, honeysuckle and potatoes to plant. . .they were on sale.

I think it's great how quickly the compost decomposes with chicken manure in it!! I'd forgotten how much faster! Our hen is free range, so we haven't had any to add for awhile. I was happy to be able to use a lot of compost in the gardens today

I'm glad all chickens where ok!!!!
I really didn't have any damage except my sleep(which I feel like I got none)

ChickyChickyBaby-I hope u get that dog!

Dominicker3285-Go luck on Next Hatch!!

Huckleberry- I have a 8week oldish hen that is still just not right. she has trouble walking and her neck is bent in a sort of sleep position. I have give her spinach puree injection into her mouth and I have tripled her vit/electrolyte, she is walkin better, but she still keeps her eyes closed alot and her neck is bent(like she could straighten it out but cant or wont not sure). SO if any one has any advise about this I will listen!

So in the light of a new day I look at this as another great adventure on West Knoll Farm!
I can salvage parts and make a new pen.
Look at the difference in the one behind it. It was also blown completely over. No damage to it.

That wood coop was not as sturdy as I liked so I will take it apart and rebuild.
Meanwhile, since someone is coming tomorrow to pick up my beloved SLW roo then I will put his hens in the laying flock and be able to move the buff Mottled project Cochins up to that pen.
When one door closes, another opens. Thank you, Lord!

AMY - omg that looks horrible!

Since there is not a poultry club anywhere close by , I am thinking about starting one here in Beaufort, SC. Would anyone be interested? Have monthly meetings, discuss any and all issues related to chickens and we could even have swap meets
