Beaufort is 215 miles south of Greenwood acording to mapquest :0). While that may be a bit far for you to drive every month to a meeting, there are quite a few clubs in Northern Georgia, and there are some in northern SC/NC that might be closer.
Even so, I will be putting out a newsletter every month and you will be more than welcome to subscribe

Laurens has a TSC?

I only ever venture to Laurens for work and usually only as far as Gray Court or Lauren's Middle. . . I'm sure Mauldin's TSC is closer to us. . .but I may have to check out the chicken swap!

Although it would be a great excuse for visiting Beaufort if you can afford the gas!!

I love the broody hens!
I have one Muscovy on eggs, a Golden Laced Wyandotte on duck eggs, 3 Silkies on duck eggs and 1 Silkie on chicken eggs, a Sizzle on eggs and a Frizzle just went broody, 3 bantam project Cochins have gone in a nest together and a Jersey Giant walking around with her attitude saying her big mama self better get some respect because she is going to go broody!

Well, at least they are helpful since my 'bator is stuffed!

Go to my website and click on Breeds then scroll down until you see Silkies/Sizzles/Frizzles and click on that. From there you can click on the Sizzle link and see the photos.
Sizzles are curly feathered birds that have the top knot like a Silkie. Or some of them are smooth feathered because you get about 50% of the hatch to have the curly feathers but they will have a top knot and Frizzles do not. They will also show black skin and 5 toes on each foot.
