DH would never quote anyone prices for my birds or eggs. He can't believe I am trading my silkie eggs and not hatching them. But I am....I have no reason to hatch ALL of them though.....so I pick & chose. These were my lavender & black splits!
That is also why we each have our own incubators. Of course he thinks he should always have a 100% hatch rate out of his eggs, I know some will be clear......but he does hatch out more pullets than I do!
I have close to 180 eggs in now, with a couple or three more swaps on the way.
It was partly my fault too, for forgetting about them, and I know he feels horrible. He will not be doing anything else without supervision. And he is the one with more chicken & duck experience than me!
this is a bit off subject.. but your user name the Bee lady... do you ever put bee boxes at other peoples property. kid of like a helping hand. we have very few bees in our area that i have seen and im concerned about our garden this year and would love for someone to put a bee box out, but I personally don't want to be in-charge of the bee's ( other than make sure nothing happens to their box of course) a little one would be nice but not greedy.. mainly just want the pollinators.
just curious

I do put hives on other peoples property but usually within 10 miles or less of my property. I live near Pickens.
I know there are a lot of beekeepers in the Laurens area. Contact your local Clemson Ext. office. They should be able to put you in contact with the local beekeeping club. If you are not able to get in touch with them, email me and I will find contact info for the local club.
Howdy from Ridgeway, SC! Been keeping chickens for about a month and I love it! My girls are beautiful and growing into plump mature young hens. They love their log chicken coop too. We have 2 EE, 2 RR, 2 BO, and 2 BR. I grew up in Ohio and would really like to add 2 Buckeyes at some point, but I think I will not go past 10. Have a blessed day! This is the Day that the Lord has made, we will rejoice and and be glad in it!
