We use it on our dogs too..... forgot about those

DH gives it internally by a piece of bread to our outside dogs - keeps ticks off.

And I read somewhere recently that it helps keep dogs from getting heartworms. But I cannot say to that, since I have no clue.

Ivermectin I have is in a 50ml bottle. It is as tall as my index finger, IDK how long that is

maybe 2 1/2" ......Since we use it for so many different animals, it works out for us to keep it on hand. I am thinking the expiration date is like 1 or 2 years. Not sure on that though.

My sevin dust treatment is due this week......first part of the month. OMG it is too hot to dust birdsssssssssssssssssssss
.
With the sevin dust, I took a thin worn out bed sheet and cut a square out of it. Sprinkled the sevin dust in it & then twisted it up like a hobo bag (carried on a stick - like in cartoons

) then fastened with a bread tie. Easy to use like a little powder puff, easy to refill, and can be tossed if need be.

PInk

It's Eprinex ( ivermectin ) pour on for cattle. Tractor supply

Pour on is what I picked up the last time. Mine does not say Eprinex......it says Ivermectin pour on - mine came from The Hay Rack.

Amy's says Eprinex! That was the name of it

I have been using the injectable up until March.

That is what we always have on hand. Just using it outside the bird not injecting it. I haven't used the pour on but in April. It was so wet I did not want to use sevin dust. .......

Supposedly good for all parasites

ETA: My pour on is blue. Makes it easier to see to use. My other is clear.

I just checked - expiration date on the pour on is 4/12 ....... so it will be good for awhile.

I also picked up some stall safe at TSC - gonna try that sometime to clean the coop. I know I plan on using it before and after shows in the carriers.

I used sand in my greenhouse converted into a brooder house and I loved it. The sand is easy to keep clean and seems to keep the birds cleaner. I did buy the white play sand in bags at Lowes. But it worked great for the chicks and the heat lamps made it warm for them to sleep on. I've used sand with my canaries before and it does make a difference which kind you use. Some of the red sand will discolor white birds. Not as bad as red clay though.

As for your polish crested, all of mine are very calm and friendly. I can walk in and pick up my roosters or hens whenever I want to. They don't run from me or get upset. I'm not sure about the size issue. There are two sizes of polish, standard (which is small for standards) and then bantam. I have standards and they do seem to be slow to mature. I love my polish chickens.

Yep Donna, that's where I thought you were. The Farmer's Market isn't far and I thought maybe you'd visited. I'll let you know when they start again. It usually starts the Saturday before Thanksgiving, everyone comes out to pick up their turkey. Then he does it one Saturday a month but never any particular Saturday. You're only about 5 minutes down the road from me.

I got to meet Mary the Bee Lady today!! She's very nice and I really enjoyed visiting with her. Hope I didn't talk her ears off, seems I always have something else I want to ask.
