He's a spangled Thai, a type of oriental gamefowl. He's just a baby, around 5 months, and has the most pitiful crow to be so big and tall. Here is a picture of him and his pullet friend.

She is in Aiken and we have bought some Plymouth Barred Rocks from her. I am not sure on what all she has, as she has several different breeds.

Thanks for the welcome Moxies! I have gotten birds from Lisa, and she is terrific! Unfortunatly, she doesn't have what I am looking for this time. I left my birds when we moved here. Didn't want to bring them across state lines. I may have to get eggs shipped to rebuild my flock.........stan

Well darn stan!! And here I thought I was giving you a great lead!! We are having trouble finding the breeds that go broody as well as lay eggs. We are trying to keep a closed flock that way. Keep us posted if you find anyone!
PS..we have one Barred rock hen left that we bought from Lisa. I am hoping to hatch a few of her eggs the net time my one broody hen goes broody.

A few adventurous jakes decided to wander out into the cow pasture this overcast day.

And I discovered that my oldest royal palm hen has a hidden nest...again. Silly girl doesn't seem to realize it's October, she's not supposed to still be laying. These turkeys are worse than rabbits.
