I think I need (notice I said need not want hehe) more hens. My rhode island red tried to mount a ten week old pullet this morning and she is only half his size. It was a pathetic sight. I now know what my roosters issue is though. He's a hormonal young guy!!!!
I have a 2:1 pullet to cockerel ratio I think at the moment so I definitely need less boys and more girls.
Off topic of chickens but due to my Migraines I need to really cut back my animals and focus on less species. I was breeding gerbils for a while and have about a dozen that are free to good homes. I can't find time to clean up their cages and care for chickens, dogs, cats, etc while also battling a migraine that lasts 12 hours twice a week! I have a tame rat too and as I mentioned before a breeding pair of ringneck doves. All of them are free to good homes and I can post photos of them. Gerbils are also colorful (Siamese pied, white, silver, etc) and various ages. Some were born in late march. If I can't find homes I'm taking them to the local petshop for them to rehome. I'll be upset but I don't have time for them and need to get to a specialist soon. I've even had to miss the last couple dog shows I take my dogs to because of my evil brain!
