Congrats on hatching the peachicks! I personally know what an accomplishment that is. I have 7 this year and I'm thrilled. I hatched 5 under a hen and her peachicks are 2 months old and doing great. The peahen hatched my other 2 but I took them away from her because she wouldn't stay with them at night. So far, they're doing good with a couple of chicks for company. Good luck with them.

Amy - I think Nicole has a "Cowboy" baby. The hen we bought from you laid an egg the day after we brought her home. Nicole incubated that egg, and it is the cutest baby! I will get her to take a pic of it if she hasn't already.

Let me upload these photos and I will show you what mine look like. You probably do have a Cowboy kid!

First, here is a Bo son that is growing up nicely. I have 3 or 4 of his boys left. No girls. They sold out quick! But these boys are so handsome so all the girls left with a boy.
Oh and yes, those are newly hatched Muscovy babies behind him.

Huggs hatched out ducklings from her parents nest. I left Penelope some eggs and she hatched out 5. Huggs is glad to hatch and raise her sisters and brothers.

While I was trying to get photos of the ducks my blue Ameraucana pullet came up to see what was going on.

I have hatched a good many blues and lavenders this year from several different breeders so I will have bloodlines to work with next spring. Here is one roo I am thinking of keeping.

And last but not least, a few Cowboy kids......

Hope you enjoy the photos. I had to take a bunch of shots for several birds I am selling so I snapped through about 400 photos in 10 minutes. Hot outside even with the clouds though.

Wow, so many friendly people!! So nice to have another opportunity to make new friends too. I tried to do the "my page" thing, and upload some pictures, but that is so way over my head right now.
Back to the chickens. Fiance brought home 13...4 week olds. They turned into 7 roosters, 6 hens. I found that out one morning, 2 weeks ago, now 3...when I went out to feed and water them. The big boy was pecking the heads of the other roosters. So, I kicked him out, gave him water only (he could free range), and fiances co-worker came to get him the next day. That left 6. We were going to keep 2, and slaughter 4...toss them in the freezer for later. Well, early he next day, Saturday morning, we set up the cooker for boiling water, the tripod to cut their lil' heads off and let them drip, the tarp for plucking feathers onto, and the hose and ice water for what was left.
We got 2 slaughtered, and then the propane burner thingy started leaking gas. Regulator? Anyhoo.....the 2 roosters left got a reprieve.
Now, 2 of the roosters got 1 week of free range....plus water and feed. I had the other 2 roosters in the cages with the hens. About midweek, I asked fiance about switching them out, as we had had no problems with neighborhood dogs since he scared them off shooting at them, that first morning. Big Boy rooster had a week of free range, no problems. The others had a week also, no problems. Well, that Friday, a week ago, I let them all out. 2 in cages, not secured. 2 free range. We were awake at 330 am on the next morning. Heard some noise out front. The dogs had come back. All 4 roosters were gone. All I found was a leg.
Fiance was a bit upset. He wanted to have one or 2 roosters left. Well, I reminded him that I had put the 2 meanest roosters in the little unsecured cages, all day...just shade and water...no food. They were to be slaughtered ones the next day. Being they were the aggressive ones, and hungry, I figured 1 might come back. Well, one did. He escaped. Came back about 630...limping....no bloody...missing a few wing feathers...and looking for some feed and water. Woo hoo!!...we got 1 roster back.

Thank you! I am wondering if I should put some guinea keets in with them????

Amy those are some nice looking chickens! Every time you post pictures I have to keep myself from emailing and asking ... I have to remind myself that first, I have to have a place to put more chickens before I bring them home. So many chickens, so little space!!
Better go batten down the hatches before the storm hits, radar looks a bit nasty. Have a good night everyone!

It's worth a try. I would suggest maybe just 2 or 3, not too many. I find the peachicks to be very similar to the keets in personality. They're a bit more energetic than chickens.
