I hope everyone is enjoying this fine "hot" Sunday! My daughter fell a sleep on the couch so I have some time to myself here. I have moved my 2 peachicks out into the outside brooder. Finally got all the keets out of it--no, not sold just moved. They(the peachicks) are huddled in a corner in fright at the moment. Hopefully they get use to the idea of a new home with see through floor and start eating and drinking.
I didn't get to go to any swap this weekend but I did sell some eggs today--A local woman came and got some guinea eggs from me today--.50 a piece(is that a fair price? or too much, too little?) She seemed very happy with the deal. I have sold to her before and called and offered her some eggs from 2 guinea nest I had been watching develop in size(no hen had set on them yet) and when the hurricane was thought to be coming this way with "lots" of rain I decided to pick them up. It was only about 35 eggs.
I am amazed the girls are still laying!
Tomorrow I have a person hopefully buying my youngest keets. He wanted just the 6 coral blues and hubby said he needed to buy all or nothing--it worked as he said he would buy all 18!!
He must really want some coral blues! We have about 8 corals in with the older batch but I think I will keep them. Has anyone ever run guineas with peacocks? Will they get along? We were thinking of trying the coral blues in the large pen, that is now a hog pen, with the peacocks when we get rid of the hogs and convert the pen. Anyone see any problems with that?
Ok, well Lydia is awake so off I go! Hope everyone had a good, safe weekend!
