5 years of prednisone really wreaked havoc on me physically. I know when I got my license renewed last time I cried all the way home from the DMV because it did not look a thing like me. I started looking older about 5-7 years ago. I remember when I was 35-38 and still looked like I was in my twenties. Now I am 42 and look like I am in my 50s!

ETA: I have dropped 36lbs in the past year. Made my day to have to keep pulling up those shorts that I could not even get on last summer. Todd has lost 50lbs in 3-4 years

I stand corrected......... Mine is since Nov 2009.

I hope everyone is enjoying this fine "hot" Sunday! My daughter fell a sleep on the couch so I have some time to myself here. I have moved my 2 peachicks out into the outside brooder. Finally got all the keets out of it--no, not sold just moved. They(the peachicks) are huddled in a corner in fright at the moment. Hopefully they get use to the idea of a new home with see through floor and start eating and drinking.

I didn't get to go to any swap this weekend but I did sell some eggs today--A local woman came and got some guinea eggs from me today--.50 a piece(is that a fair price? or too much, too little?) She seemed very happy with the deal. I have sold to her before and called and offered her some eggs from 2 guinea nest I had been watching develop in size(no hen had set on them yet) and when the hurricane was thought to be coming this way with "lots" of rain I decided to pick them up. It was only about 35 eggs.

I am amazed the girls are still laying!

Tomorrow I have a person hopefully buying my youngest keets. He wanted just the 6 coral blues and hubby said he needed to buy all or nothing--it worked as he said he would buy all 18!!

He must really want some coral blues! We have about 8 corals in with the older batch but I think I will keep them. Has anyone ever run guineas with peacocks? Will they get along? We were thinking of trying the coral blues in the large pen, that is now a hog pen, with the peacocks when we get rid of the hogs and convert the pen. Anyone see any problems with that?

Ok, well Lydia is awake so off I go! Hope everyone had a good, safe weekend!

I've not been around because I've been busy, but I'm dropping by because the couple eggs I managed to hatch (I'm going with operator errors somewhere...) hatched today.

I've decided to call him/her Quincy. XD Sounded like a good cute...squishy name a few minutes ago. He (I am calling a boy. It's so boyish.) has a sibling or friend one hatching right now so thankfully it shouldn't grow up all alone!

I got a dozen eggs from Jack. And I tossed a few really porous ones that didn't develop, but had quite a few die during development and actually late in development. Not sure what happened. So I think I need to get a better thermostat and such. I never went out and bought anything. I still have the el-cheapo one that came with my incubator. Only one chick is officially hatched. Another is hatching. So looks like I will have 2 little chicks, but I can't tell you how much I absolutely aodre them!!! These are my first chicks!!! *jumps up and down* They are mille fleur cochins.

So today I finally got DH to help me work on converting an old junk building into another chicken coop. I thought I'd share a couple pics of our progress thus far.

We still have a lot of work to do...doors, paint, and hopefully eventually runs. I can't wait for it to be finished! I have several chickens out in the barn that I'll be very happy to get into their own coops

Too cute! And it looks like the line is coming from the center of the eye....boy. A line coming from under the eye should mean girl. Ah geez or did I get that backwards again.....
