Must be something about this time of the year. They are EVERYWHERE here too!

Our girls like them, but we often have to knock the spiders to the ground, The chickens have a hard time balancing on the stilts.

I hate them especially when they invade my house and crawl up my arm as I try to sleep dreaming of chicks yet to hatch!!!

Yes but they seem to wander up at the darndest times. We often have to drive quite slowly through certain parts of our route to school in the morning for the deer and turkeys crossing or standing in the road. And I try so hard to remember to pick up the feed pans from the barnyard at night. Although the dog is a help in that area.

But I did manage to find homes for more than 35 Guineas these past few days so my feed bill will go down in that area. I really did not realize those birds were so prolific!
And I could have sold a whole lot more if I had them! Wow!

Wonder if turkeys sell as well?

Don't know if they sell as well but I can tell you they sure do eat a LOT more than guineas!

Oh I love them. If I didn't already have my bronze breasted turkeys I would take yours. I was wanting midget whites before my son got these. Don't think I can afford to add another breed of turkey. Mine are MUCH bigger than yours.

Sunday morning a fox was trolling right outside the chicken coops. Then a coyote showed up. Then the hawk. And then the fox. And this morning, a coyote was in the pasture with the sheep. I'm over it! Although I do think my guineas were about to take after that fox! My husband started yelling at it right when they started chasing it. Go, Guineas! Yesterday, my farm cat Kitty Witty walked over there and the guineas all came flying over and circled her. We were watching to see what would happen. The cat laid down on her back like she does when she wants us to pet her. I think she was trying to be friends. It ended peacefully. My husband is coming around on the guineas. Both of those situations surprised him. In a good way. I tried to tell him....

I've witnessed my guineas saving my chickens and ducks from the coyotes this summer. They are fantastic watch dogs. I LOVE my guineas!

Susanne, I pm'd you about the LGD's. I also have a friend that just got an adult dog and I will contact him and ask where he got her. I'll let you know when I hear from him.

Just wanted to wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving. I read that a new baby is expected, what a wonderful part of life. I used to work in Labor and Delivery and thanked God everytime a baby was born healthy. My children are a blessing from God, even though I want to give them back sometime.
