There are actually a number of reason I do not invite people to the house but it is not that I am hiding anything. There were a number of murders and robberies across the country by people responding to Craig's List listings and then about 2 years ago one occurred in Savannah where a man was shot over a motorcycle. Plus, I really do not want people I do not know anything about coming to our house. We are out in the sticks and I just feel better meeting people some place else like a Walmart parking lot with the birds. Some people think we are hiding something but most people are pretty ok with it as it gets the birds closer to them.

And less chance of bringing home chicken diseases.

I love all the pregnancy stories! Keep 'em coming! The women that sits next to me at work said she craved pickled herring. Uh sick!

Was anyone completely mental during their pregnancy? The remote met the back of my dear sweet DH's head the other night for laughing when I involuntarily gagged at something on the TV. WHO AM I? I don't throw things at people. And then I cried about what an awful person I was until I went to bed. At 7:30.

I don't know how he puts up with me between my chickens and the Cletus Fetus (my husband's name is Cleve, so we call it the Cletus Fetus).

Pregnancy kills brain cells!

I felt so scattered and I'm usually a very organized person. I also cried through every single Kleenex commercial that came on television. I tend to be a thrower of things so I can't help you there but.....I say do whatever makes you happy and blame it on the pregnancy. This is one time in your life that you can get away with most anything. Use it, it won't last forever.

That may be because of the hoopla that happened last week...glad we have a moderator there that is watching us! I think it will loosen up again once the dust settles...I hope so! I promise I am being good!

I totally understand and I meet people whenever possible. This is why I don't like selling eggs from my Farm. Too many people coming and going as they please. Most people don't call first and it was to the point where I was afraid for my kids to be out in the yard if I couldn't be right there with them. I had one man stop because he saw the "Fresh Eggs" sign. He grew up here on this property and that sign made him feel comfortable enough to stop and walk around the yard. I was outside, caught off guard by myself. He made me very nervous and I could not get him to leave. My husband came home while he was still here and he finally left. This same man is now in jail, arrested only a few months after visiting my farm. He kidnapped, raped and murdered a girl and now they think there may be other victims too. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE be careful. Most honest people will understand that you are just being careful. If they don't understand, too bad. I have to think about my children and I don't like bringing strangers here to our home. I'm really thinking of not selling chickens from here at all and just selling my eggs either commercially or shipped.

I NEVER got sick or had more than 3 hours labor...my Doc almost beat me the second time

but the first...DD...I craved watermelon and ate one every day almost...the second I craved working?!?

I worked third shift and would come home and housework...paint...clean...whatever!!! The funny part of the story is my first that I craved watermelon (picture lazily sitting under a shade tree enjoying...) is such a HARD WORKER! My DD and the one I "craved" working...my DS...is LAZY! A good worker IF...IF...IF you can get him inspired!!!

I LOVE my roosters! My farm is called "Joyful Sounds Farm" for a reason.
