i am new on byc i am fom australia

somewhere I goofed up. I looked at my hatching calendars. I have 3 batches all set to come out on the same day.one batch of my Rhode Island Reds. one set of Earls gamebabies and a set of guineas. it's the guineas that threw me off cycle with the 28 day thing. it's okay. I have 5 incubators. I'll just power up one of those for the RIR's.run the guineas in the fishabator. and earls in the 1270 hatching tray. and still have room. that works.

Just reebok, we can make that dream of the RIR's you have on your profile a reality in a heartbeat. if you want to start young, I'm hatching today. There are some about 2 weeks old out there and some about 6 weeks old out there. and I'm about to cull some laying hens. I can make that dream come alive. Let me know otherwise the culls ( 14 month old laying hens ) are going to auction soon.

OOPS let me rephrase that. I have 50 BR pullets. I'll keep 10. the rest will have to have a new home. ranging from 2 to 4 months old currently. I usually wait till they start laying to get rid of them. but if your intereasted. your welcome to a few.

Awww I love pips!! So exciting!! I would hate to have to go to work if I had any pips!!! I would not get much work done--wanting to be home to see if I had any babies!!! Can't wait to meet your new chickies!! Did you candle all those eggs? Are they all good? That is a bunch of babies!!
Don't you hate getting ready for work when there is pippin in the fishabator ( I named the homemade fish crate incubator )?

I love this! I, too, am tired of hauling water. This would work perfect on our new property. Can you send me the list of materials and how you put it all together?
I got the gravity waterer finished. No more having the fill up the 1 gallon waterer. There is 1 cup inside and two outside.

I went to gather eggs and check on our broody hen and found a wonderful surprise. Our first Maran chick had hatched. I was so excited to text Lou Ann a picture at work. My husband was with me and waiting in the car and wondered why it was taking so long for me to gather a couple of eggs! Now, we just have to figure a way to keep the other hens away from mamma and the hatching babies until they have all hatched. She will then be moved to her own little run where no one will bother her. I just don't want to scare her off the nest and interrupt the hatching process by doing it now. If you look really close, you will see a pip in the egg behind the baby!
