Good Morning

I am getting ready for chickenstock.

I started sorting buff silkies last night. I will finish sometime today.
Amy...I will let you know how I come out on the buffs. Do you need some guinea eggs for your bator?
A friend found 3 doz. and is shutting her bator down today. She is going to be bear hunting and traveling in Oct. and Nov. so does not want to hatch any more. I have only met a couple of women that bear hunt. She and her DH travel a lot to bear hunt. She is an amazing lady. You would never know she is about my age. Wish I had her energy and stamina.

If you want the eggs, I can probably bring them to chickenstock.

Wow...I haven't posted on here in forever! It's been too long! Mary, I may want some guinea eggs! DH has it in his head to get some. I'll ask him and let you know asap!

Ok some of my chickens are doing same thing snot sneeze sounds like a baby with a cold when I pick them up a feel it in there chest. I have dr all of them with tylan50 and I'm still seeing signs of sickness and still. As soon as I think I beat it another comes sick and help I would love
Also anyone have address for the chickenstock

So how long? Mine are not getting better. I have them in duramycin in the waterer and vitamins and extra vitamin C. I have given yogurt. No improvement. The sickest one(the second to get sick. The first to get sick died on Sat.) Is really bad off. His eyes are hardly open and he is breathing very heavy or hard. I am frustrated. Nothing I do helps. I wish they would either die or get better. I hate all the waiting. It has been over 2 weeks for mine. At first it was only a few but now all the babies in the coop have it. Let me know if you figure something out. I would just like to know what is going on. The tylan you are giving, is that injectable?

Does anyone know if Oxine would help these guys? I have not used it but have read a lot about it. Google it and see what you think. Misting it over birds with respiratory issue is suppose to give some relief and many people swear by it. You can even search on BYC as I know there use to be several threads where people use it. I know tylan50 is suppose to help with respiratory as it is a wonderful chicken medication but have not used it for that--but a number of other things. I hope you find some thing that will help, how disheartening....

Today is a super good chicken day.

I have porcelain silkie babies hatching...3 so far.

I had a guinea go missing over a week ago. Violet was one of my original guineas and the only violet colored one I had. There was a big commotion down in the woods that day. I looked but did not find anything. She did not come back that evening so I figured she's either setting or was caught by a preditor. A male guinea usually stays with a female during the day to guard her when she is setting but he leaves her at night. So the next morning I followed them and none of the males went to her. They all stayed together all day. So I figured she was dead. She never came into eat until today. ( she was slipping into the buff orp pen and getting water and food because the gate is usually open) Today I walked out of the chicken coop and there she was. I followed her back to her nest. She has 19 eggs and 5 maypops under her. We moved her to keep the predators from getting her. If she does not get on the eggs, they will go in the incubator in an hour.
