Southern NY, Dutchess county and below

Why they will not let people have them shipped Express overnight mail is beyond me. I'm also in the doghouse 'cause the PO called me at 5:30 and woke up Richard. Just what I need is to be trapped in the house with "grumpy". I won't even be able to go out and talk to the chickens.
oh boy............sounds like a bummer all around Carol.

it's snowing and now raining here. I'm not looking forward to the next 24 hours 1 bit. I just don't want the electric going off....please............we'll have to rewire the heat up to a generator , but baby it's cold outside and I am now gun shy of storms as most people are about now I guess.

Down to 9. This really sucks... ( am I allowed to say that?
Well....you should be allowed.

Congrats to you as well! :jumpy  Wow........so cool.

I've waited a looooong time. Geez louise I ain't getting any younger. I want to DO things with my grandkids so these guys got to get that ball rollin. ;)

Congrats, ladies! We're going to be grandparents too. Found out on Tuesday it's going to be a boy. Yea!

Suzanne, Happy Birthday! And wish Bobby a belated one for me.

I am back down in Florida. My mom got home from Rehab and needs someone with her 24/7. I will be thinking about you all and my 5 sweet girls at home. My husband is doing a great job in my absence. Wondering if he has figured out that he is going to have to dig his way to the Coop???? It was wonderful being Ho,e for a few days. The chickens looked so much bigger now and are getting combs and wattles. Can't wait for eggs in the spring!

Good Luck with the storm!
I hope your mother recovers soon. Don't worry about your chickens, they do just fine in the snow. Take care!

I know it's not great for the girls, nor for the chicks en route, but I'm looking forward to the blizzard today. It's my birthday and since I was a kid, I've loved having snow on my day. Of course, I wish I could bring all the displaced Sandy families to my house for a roaring fire and homemade soup...

Yesterday was Bobby's birthday, so I was extra nice to him. That means he has to return the favor today.

We had fun counting down the minutes until the birthday switch.

Right now I'm sitting in bed with wrapping paper and glitter and a bunch of presents. Life is good...
Happy Birthday dear friend! I hope you have a lovely day making crocheted goodies for all these babies arriving soon and that Bobby is hand feeding you peeled grapes on a divan couch.

Well we are busy enjoying this snowy, snowy day. I am baking bread, thawing a roaster chicken, making pasta, maybe some cookies... can we say eff-you Weight Watchers? My nanny brought her nephews over to play since the day care was closed (she has custody of them) and they are all running around inside outside inside outside pants off pants on... it's a little chaotic but love it. Rei the oldest (3yr) wanted to see the chickens first thing, really before anything else, so we went outside and fed them some sunflower seeds. Yum yum. That's him in the navy hood. Anyone losing power is encouraged to come by. Carolyn if your daughter's power goes out again please tell her to come here.

Fingers crossed the cable stays on....

Sorry to hear about the chicks again Carol. I think maybe wait a bit before sending the shipment again, it's just impossible for them to understand what it's like here. I'm talking to someone in Dallas and it's 75o F there now. Whole different world.

Congrats on all the new grand babies! How exciting!! You need to start thinking of cute ways to pose them as chicks, with chickens, in an egg cup, as a farmer, etc etc.. :)

Whoops just say the frigging red tail hawk go past our yard. Hope he didn't get a song bird. Dammnit.
