Southern NY, Dutchess county and below

All I know is if my son read the one thread he'd have to mention it in the acknowledgements of his next book
Tell me to leave it alone.

Well, I am finally home again.

My mom has done so well after her triple bypass surgery. She will be 85 next month and lives alone. Unfortunately, she lives in Florida and does not drive. I have never been away from home or my husband for so long. I have missed so much. The last six weeks have gone by and I can't believe it is March. What happened to February????

So sorry to hear all the credit card and ID stealing. It is amazing that we all have had the same problems. My DH had his identity stolen many years ago but we both recently had credit cards compromised. What a "Bleeping" world!!!

I spent the last few hours, cleaning up the coop and puting in nesting boxes for my girls. When I got home, the had combs and wattles and are reddening up. So I figured. to be better safe than sorry and set it up today. Just realized that I need to paint two of the fake ceramic eggs blue for Ivy and Violet, my Ameracauna/EE. At least I hadn't missed the first eggs!

I love the baby chick pictures. My son, Redstar Rob, hatched out 10 chicks at his first attempt. Not bad! He sent his pictures to Florida. My mom and I loved seeing them.

My next week will be palying "catch-up". Also, now that I am home, I can get on the contractor's back to finish up my house so that Hurricane Sandy will be a distant memory. We just got the last check from our insurance company, so I guess that will provide the incentive to get the job done!!!

So happy to be back!

Irene
Welcome home! You know it snowed today even a bit. I guess that was for your benefit. That is a long time to be away from home, and I'm sure your husband is glad to have you back. Good luck with getting your repairs completed!

I just read it, obviously someone needs education and looks like she is getting it. But you may want to edit out the name in your post #10330 (after everyone has had a chance), it shows up when searching for the name.

Quote: Yes, maybe delete that post Carol. I looked up all her comments and it seems she is just not in the right place. She'd be better off at an agriculture extension center or something. She works at McDonalds and has a herd of feral cats that kill songbirds! There is not much if anything at all I have in common with the girl so talking to her would be pointless. I don't think anyone with such strong opinions before they've even started is someone to be reasoned with if you know what I mean. Oh well.

Just got takeout from a new place in Huntington, "The Chicken Coop". Laura's been telling me to go there. Now I know why. The whole place is done in "vintage chicken". The food is fabulous. We had a 1/2 chicken with cream cheese mashed potatoes and garlic/parmesan creamed spinach. Also broccoli florets with hazelnuts and garlic and oil. And split an "Eddie Bang Bang" - spicy shredded chicken with blue cheese layered with shoestring fries and lettuce/tomato on crusty bread. Amazing. Of course, I got to talking with the woman behind the counter (I think we know each other from somewhere, but we're not sure where). She asked if I sell my eggs and I said I'm really not allowed to, but she asked if I'd consider bartering. Oh yeah.

AND the very wealthy client I tutor for up in Lloyd Harbor asked if we'd come and housesit for them over Easter break. AND her son may need some tutoring. AND on the way home my friend said she has a friend who needs a Will AND she has another friend who may need a tutor for her 3rd grade daughter.

Did I mention that today was the first day of one of my SAT classes for Sylvan?

Sometimes, just sometimes, I love this roller coaster life I'm living!
