Southern NY, Dutchess county and below

Ughhhhh.  Poor baby.  So sorry that you've got the miseries.    Try some cooked rice cereal made with water, later on try it made with skim milk.  Dry toast, lukewarm weak tea.  Room temperature canned or jarred pears are very easy on the stomach, too. Later on, some unsweetened applesauce.  Mashed cooked sweet potato (no skin).  Plain cooked white rice.  Lots of fluids or pedialyte throughout the day to replace the fluids you've lost, but take small, room temperature sips so you don't stimulate your G.I. tract.

Feel better soon!

Great advice! I hope you feel better and better as the night goes on.

Hi y'all! I'm in West Islip (Long Island). We are picking our chickens up from Clark Farms in Ct at the end of the month. This is our first venture into raising hens!!!

Welcome from Dutchess County, in the Poughkeepsie/Hyde Park area. Very nice folks here who are willing to help with everything from chicken issues to tummy troubles.

Suzanne, I still have an idea for you work wise...never got to share my thoughts since we were not able to meet you at the Poultry Congress.

Oh the little silver laced is going to be so pretty!

Up at 2am looking for a little chicken cheer. It's amazing how a little question like, "So have you thought about what you're going to do about a full-time job?" can back up on you when you can't sleep.

Add that to the list of things never to say to your partner...

Hey Donna!!! Just saw your link on Tilly's Nest - congrats!

I hope you get bombarded with sales girl! :) Way to go!

(yes it is 4am - got a cold that decided to wake me up in the middle of the night)

Carol, I am so sorry about the identity theft. It's happened to me on a small scale twice, once someone swiped my AmEx number while we were in England on vacation and used it to order a $2,000 saddle online, in England. AmEx picked up on it right away and didn't charge me for it. As I said to the fraud dept lady, "I don't own a horse and I'm not that kinky so...." she laughed and took care of it. The other time someone used my SS# to get a mobile phone. That one I had to report to the detectives, and they were able to trace it to an address in the city. It was just a mail box but looked like they were scamming a bunch of people. I think that came from one of the many medical offices I go to. I don't put my SS# on forms now and if they object I tell them why. I've never had anyone ask for it twice after that.

I am in the middle of getting what nice pieces of jewelry I do own appraised so I can make sure it's covered by insurance; now I'm going to make sure we have identity theft coverage. I'm nervous about the move, seems like an ideal time to rip someone off. At least you all can take some comfort in knowing that what you're going through was a learning experience for me to be better prepared. Sucks but there you go. Tina I'm sorry you had to lose things of sentimental value, but I guess at least they didn't harm you or your family. There's been too many home invasions for my comfort level lately. I hope something comes back to you. Fingers crossed....

We have been getting bantam eggs regularly from Nutmeg now. Last night we made burgers (shows you what a good catholic I am, totally forgot it was Lent) and I fried up two and slid them on the burger.... also cheddar cheese, lump of pate and a slice of tomato on a brioche bun. Wow. So. Good!
