The Araucana eggs I purchased from someone in South Carolina are on their way.dig out the bator. I'm excited. This breed is one of the reasons I wanted chickens.

Hello everyone,
Things havereally been "off" lately. On Friday, I received some bad news. My friend who has a disabled daughter (like me), called to say that her daughter passed away that morning. I went to the service today and it was so terribly sad. On top of this sad event, I've had some incredibly hurtful chicken drama happening over on FaceBook. I am stunned at the way people behave and later this week, when I can think a bit clearer about it all, I will try to fill you in.
I'd like you all to know how much I appreciate this group of friends. I love that we all support each other and we welcome newcomers with open arms. So, I need to send you all a great big group hug!
Tina
It's a beautiful thing!!!!! Enjoy every moment.
I was way too busy to post yesterday! Hope everyone had blessed a zizzen pesach and a glorious Easter!
I ended up with 16 eggs for my 1st week of eggs! They looked so lovely and when I placed them on the egg tray I just got misty eyed! My girls were perfect ladies with all the visitors to the coop. Some were even regaled with an "egg song". I was lucky to have 4 of my sons, their familes, wives, and finacee. It was the firs time that I was able to do so since the house is now put together from Sandy's destruction. My home looked normal once again! I made 9 racks of lamb chops (72) and only 4 chops remained. My boys can still eat like they are teenagers! Next week, my son Michael and his family arrive from California. It will be wonderful to have all 5 sons and all 7 grandchildren together! It's going to be lots of, fun, noise and food......and delicious eggs for breakfast!![]()
Egg-citing Carol! I had some and they are nice birds. And believe it or not when they hatch you can almost immediately see if they have tufts or not.The Araucana eggs I purchased from someone in South Carolina are on their way.dig out the bator. Sounds like fun to me! I had bought 2 butterfly bushes and a trumpet vine a few weeks ago and they all show some leaves on the little stems. Can't wait to get them planted outside.Heading out east with my friend today to the wholesale nurseries. This is always trouble.i need another plant like I need another chicken.i constantly remind Richard that at least it's not diamonds.

Tina, so terribly sorry for your loss. Your friend is lucky to have you there to support her, you of all people might know best what she is experiencing. I had a death happen very suddenly yesterday, a babysitter that I talked to at pick-up at school every day. She was so nice and friendly, a mom herself. She had an aneurysm yesterday morning and that was it. It throws you for a loop.Hello everyone,
