Rich, it is just a matter of time and waiting. At this point, until the MRI is done, I wait for the nerve to heal and respond or the commands from my brain again. It almost seems to simple. Hopefully the MRI will be clear and Ina few weeks I'll be back to normal.

I guess I was so relieved that I took a nap that could have qualified for a full night's sleep. Funny how once the pressure is off you feel so drained.

How's things with you?

Well I hope nothing but the best for you. Good to hear you got some well deserved rest.

Guess we both are going to stick around the homestead for a while. I need to get the electricity out to the coop real soon. I saw the wet snow forecast for here and I was like, another winter from hell again... If this proves to be as bad as last year we will be rethinking staying in NY for retirement. As much as I do love this state and all it has to offer, winter and these tired old bones don't mix. And to think I always hated the heat of summer. Getting past the 50 mark must change your body or something. Now I see why all those seniors flock to Florida and points south when they retire.

I heard the weather for Saturday, they say 6 inches or more for our area. Watch out...... here comes winter.

No way. I'm checking now.

Got it. 1 inch overnight, and wet snow on Saturday. Wet snow could still mean six inches.

Please, not this early in the season.

Al, I'm glad to hear you have some peace of mind. Nothing like not knowing to make you nuts! I was told today it's time for me to schedule an endoscopy.....YUCK! Had one 5 years ago, but my tummy never seems to be very happy.

No big deal, and certainly not double vision so I feel pretty lucky!

Good news is I have someone to take my old (still newish) coop! We are donating it to the local 4H'ers so 1) it is going to be put to good use 2) I love the idea of helping the group educate the kids on chickens 3) Tax write off! I think I might be getting a couple silkies from our friend who runs the group too! I have been stalking the silkie threads, and would LOVE to have a couple, but I am a little nervous to bring them into my established flock. I'd hate for the new babies to be bullied.

Do any of you guys/gals heat your coops? I ordered a ceramic heater and am still waiting for it to come. I know some people think it's not good to heat the coop, but if I am going to be spending any time out there this winter that sucker better be at least above freezing! I'm not talking 75 degrees, but just enough to keep the water from freezing and frost bite from happening.
