Southern NY, Dutchess county and below

Good morning all, I just saw something very cool on Craigslist. A chicken/ livestock/ farm swap on July 17 in Amenia NY In Dutchess county, about 2 and a half hours from Islip . I think the 17 th I'll have to go back and check. It's going to be at the tractor supply parking lot. No set up fee. Hey Al and Tina . I have to check I might check it out. No further than the jersey showand NO belt parkway

It's July 13 not the 17th. It's aSaturday. If you go to Craigslist long island, then under farm and garden punch in Amenia under search and it will come up. I love things like this.

Hey all, Just wanted to say I hope we all can keep dry if the weatherman is right and we are going to get as much rain as they are calling for. I plan to tarp off part of the run to try and keep it as water free as possible. I have heard from relatives in Chicago that they got four inches in three hours.

Heather is traveling today and I wish her and the kids the best of luck . Safe travels.

Have a great weekend :)

P.S. I ordered eggs...shhh

Oooh yes, what kind of eggs? :) Rosie, distract Lovey enough (with the pound cake) so you can snuggle a baby chickie! Queenchick, I hope you go in July to the swap and have a great time!

This was the first little peep to hatch yesterday. I have to see how to get my phone pictures into the cloud (oy-vey all this technology) so I can post more!!

Got a phone call from town of Brookhaven. They are spraying in my area tonight for Mosquitos. It's supposed to rain bad so I don't know why they are doing it tonight ???
I have to move all feed and waterers into the shed. Put tarp over the pen. Close up coop windows. Move momma and babies crates into shed. Ugh.

Too bad the broody mamas simply MUST scratch it out of the feeder and throw it all over the place.
That's how the chicks learn how to eat.

Yeah I only bought a small bag of chick feed to start with cause I'm used to brooding them myself. Had to run back to Shirley feed for a 50# bag. The other girls keep sticking their beaks in through the wire to steal baby food too. Agh!! They think they are missing out on something yummy.
