Thanks so much for posting that fodder info. I've printed out his article and am going to try this out. I have bags and bags of dried beans that I harvested years ago. I'm going to do a grow-test and if they sprout, I'm going to use them instead of barley.

Hi everyone!!! I have not posted in ages, but wanted to take this opportunity to wish everyone a happy holiday season in case I don't get back in here again before. Some of you know I have been having some health issues that have been causing significant disruption in my life. I spent yesterday at the ER getting an MRI to rule out a stroke and on Monday I have a surgical consult at Presbyterian in NYC. It is possible that they will be doing surgery on my carotid this week. Actually, I think it would be nice to just get it over with so I can go back to my life... keep your fingers crossed that it is a stent placement and not a bypass...

Hoping and wishing everything good for you: Easy, painless diagnostic testing, brilliant doctors, and fabulous treatment. Then home in record time and feeling GREAT!!

Will your husband be going with you? Do you want me to meet you at the hospital? What can I do to help?your in my thoughts, everything will be fine. Couldn't ask for a better place for a consult.

Well my 2 NNs are in the middle of the worst molt I've ever seen. They sure picked a great time for it. Really glad I cleaned the coops yesterday. You know it's cold when I don't want to go out.
Anyone that plans on attemptIng to try the barley fodder idea needs to be very careful concerning the real possibility of mold contamination. It could be disasturous for your flock.
Have a safe and stress free Thanksgiving everyone.

Just went outside to check on the girls and give them some wax worms .found my little spitzenhauben dead in the coop. Perfectly fine yesterday. Hadn't realized she wasn't out since it was dark when I opened the run. She was a cutie pie. What a drag.
