Southern NY, Dutchess county and below

Wow! That's a lot to take on... I used to do a lot of that too but I draw the line at putting up up sheet rock by myself. Fortunately Rich is pretty handy. We built the chicken run (photo a few posts ago) and he's my plumber and electrician, tile man, painter (tho I would do all the fiddly stuff like windows and doors). He doesn't have too much time to do big projects any more. Maybe if I could talk him into retiring! Ha ha ha! Sorry, I don't know anyone in your area to help you out.
My hubby is actually really good at all this stuff, but he has been seriously lacking in the motivation department the past few years. So, I am left to do any "projects" on my own. He says he is going to help and then keeps putting me off. I have been waiting for him to frame a window in our master bath for 3 years. I gutted it and have been waiting on him to do it so I can finish the room. I went online and YouTube how to frame a window. First warm day and I am going to tackle it. I don't care if it turns out like a Salvador Dali painting, I just want it done at this point... lol.

Hippy, what seeds did you buy in Wethersfield? How large a garden do you have and does Richard dig in also?
I just so need to be digging in the dirt now. Getting bored with my knitting and quilting(OK not really). Made a beautiful tablerunner with vegetable fabric. Have to buy more batting, just have the top done.

The little old English I brought home has decided she wants to be a little lovey again. What a cutie. If my husband wouldn't have me locked up I'd carry her around all the time. Did I mention, he doesn't know about them yet....

Stay warm

How did you get them by him? If Rich knew I was going to a convention he'd be sure to come and help me unload to check what I had. I'd have to crawl up the driveway and hope he didn't see me. Lol.
As far as what seeds I bought... The answer is TOO MANY!! Rich said I had enough to plant all of Westchester! Ha ha ha. I bought tomatoes (3 kinds) peppers(several) cukes eggplant broccoli leeks lettuces peas herbs flowers. Waaaaayyy too much. But I can never wait to get my hands in the dirt. No gloves. I read an article, maybe in organic gardening, that there is a bacteria in the soil that enters our body through the skin which causes the release of seratonin(? Sorry about spelling) in the brain and that is why gardeners love gardening. Isn't that cool?
I have about 3/4 acre but the veggie garden where the chickens are is fenced in and is about, I don't know, maybe 50-60' by 30'. Rich will help me if I ask him too. I'm the main gardener tho.
I will be away from this Friday to feb 10. I'm going to see my sister in the uk. So I won't be on next week. I have to check my craft, sewing, quilting, knitting, computer room to find something to take on the plane with me I hate having nothing to do...
I'm trying to stay warm. You too

Hippy, I saw you with that stack of seeds at the checkout. It looked like a deck of cards.
I never have gloves on, although I do buy them.....

I've always said thank god my husband is a surgeon 'cause he can't hammer a nail in a wall. His whole family is in construction( last count, the ninth largest company in NY). They buy a home (it's perfect) but they start in one room and redo the whole house. When they get back to the beginning they start all over again....they do things like rebricking the midtown tunnel.codo complexes of 400 units etc. my garage is about to fall down but every time there cockatoo farts wrong they call Richard.yes they all live here on the island.it any of there wives are lurkers on here I'm now in even more shiRt they usual. Imthe black sheep of this family. With gardening, chickens, camping, never having make-up on etc. they look at me as if I have three heads.

As far as getting the girls through the gates. I knew he'd be watching one of the play-off games . He watches TV with the volume so loud a jet plane could land in our back yard and he wouldn't know it.he very rarely goes into our back yard so unless I go away and need him to take care of the girls anytime soon their safe.

Hippy, have a great time with your sister and please be safe.

That could be very interesting... Just paint each side a different colour and get some towels to match and voila... You are an artiste!

Make the left top side higher and the bottom right side longer. Then you don't have to worry about mitering the corners or exactly matching them either.

Thanks Carol. At the moment my bedroom is turned upside down because I have things I dont want to forget to takewoth me all over every flat surface. Looks like a bomb exploded in here! You think I'd be better at this with the number of times I accompany Richie on his travels...
Oh well, thank God he's a patient soul.

My white NN Charlotte managed to dig a huge hole by my Tamarack yesterday. She was covered in mud from top to bottom.i guess she's sick of winter just like the rest of us.
