Southern NY, Dutchess county and below

Morning,
I can't believe how great my garden is doing.the only thing that isn't doing well are the Asian winged beans I got at Bakers creek. I'm not giving up on them yet. How is Lillie's garden coming along? I finally gave up on fruit trees and am sticking to berries. My new strawberry patch is amazing.those tristar strawberries are delicious.
I can't believe we start putting fall crops in already. Hating the idea .

Over the past 2weeks I have locked out 2 different girls.luckily they were OK. They aren't going in til after 9. Past my bed time.

Enjoy the day.

Queenchick- do you have a pic of your rumpless hen as a chick? I just hatched one out last week, but it was a cross of a TSC BR and my GLW roo, neither of which are rumpless. Right now I'm dealing with healing up what I thought was a swollen vent from pasty butt, but now I'm wondering if it a genetic deformity that it may not recover from.
ETA: it has died. Still curious if was a deformity that caused internal problems.

Hi everyone
Sorry for being so silent for the past few weeks. It has been crazy around here. They started the demolition of the back room with a flat roof. They have dug out and poured the the cement for the foundation for the small extension. I have a pile of lumber over 20' high in the driveway... the cars are parked in the street... we have a dumpster in the driveway, but they are doing a very good job of containing the destruction of the garden. Thank goodness.
The chickens don't seem to mind the noise even though they are close by. I have broken the Serama's of being broody. Keeping them outside and not allowing them back in the coop took a few weeks but it worked. Thank goodness and they are laying again. The "babies" are now bigger but Toast still doesn't allow them to eat the goodies I put in the run. So I put it in two different spots. She's so funny. I'll try and post more regularly but there are so many decisions to make on windows and handles and fixtures for the bathrooms and which cupboards we are keeping for the new kitchen and on and on...OMG it is overwhelming! Today I have to go to the plumbing supply and finalize toilet and sink and faucets. Then I'm going to veg out. I hope.
My tomatoes are doing well, the pumpkins are about 4' up the trellis. The bean are up the poles and in bud (except the purple pod all three perished and the Chinese red noodle- I only have one of those that survived). The potatoes and onions are doing well.
I hope everyone is well.

Chriatine, I forgot to say that Chewy is finally starting to feel better and starting to eat and play like a puppy again. Please tell Judy.

Sorry about your little chick. Without a necropsy you'll never know.

Pip, just keep thinking of how beautiful it is going to be when they are done. When we put the extension on our house we had to use a porta potty for weeks. Good luck ....it will be over soon.

We have one of those too!
I get overwhelmed inside, so I just come out to the garden and start weeding and it calms me down.
