I am getting rid of two of my dark brahma roos so taking on a new one shouldn't be a prob for me (unless he gets crazy loud or nasty).

Ok we will see what hatches

I'm not allowed to have a Roo, so it would be nice

Down here, Newsday just ran an article about a man in Great Neck petitioning the town to allow chickens. The biggest town in Nassau doesn't allow chickens at all. Interesting to see if that gets changed.

I was going to post this in the buy/sell/trade, but it is free (so really not buy, sell, or trade), so I hope this isn't breaking the rules (if so, Mods can you let me know and I will move it). Also, I will not ship, so offering locally is the only way I can see being able to find a local home. I have 2 dark brahma roos that need homes. I would rather find a home that wants them rather than freezer camp, so if you are interested let me know. Here is Leroy (Henry looks just about the same but is a bit higher in carriage and slightly bigger):


They are good roos, meaning they protect their girls and all the eggs I have cracked have been fertile. I have 3 of these guys and have seen them bully a Northern Harrier right out of the run. They can be a bit cranky with little kids if they are messing around with their hens and they are doing the typical roo stuff. I am trying to rehome the two because they are a bit much for my hens (even with 23 of them). They all turn 1 in april (this pic was from October).

I'm sure I'll catch grief for posting this link, but here goes.

It's a live feed from Cornell University's dept. of Ornithology. The feed is of a Red-tailed Hawk sitting on her eggs. Maybe we can convince them to eat mice...exclusively!
