This handbag picture .......which is a cross over type has "LICHICKS" name on it. She doesn't even know that yet.LOL

I buy designer fabrics....line them and make  100% cotton ..lined ....one of a kind bags. Use it long or short by simpy tying/knoting the straps  where you like to be comfortable. Machine washable cold water and hang tp dry. Iron if you feel it's necessary. I carry my bali batic fabric bag everywhere and get many compliments. :)This purse has a black back ground and a colorful rooster tossed fabric.

Love your bag!

I am no quilter and my sewing skills are limited to replacing buttons and fast basting hems but - what about a group quilt project? Maybe this is even one to take off our little backwater thread here. Everyone could make a square and then contribute it all together to make a bigger blanket. Then the blanket could be auctioned off or donated. Just a thought.
Here's to a rain free Monday - enjoy the local parades and hug a chicken and a vet!

Great idea! Count me in to contribute a square if you do this. I hadn't
quilted years, but recently dusted off my machine to start making lap
quilts for my church (for Haiti). I'll start keeping my eyes open for chicken fabrics.
I'm in Williamsburg,VA at the moment, for a vacation w/my hubby. I stopped
by the Claire Murray store in Yorktown today and saw beautiful rooster
Hook rug, needlepoint and cross stitch patterns. Very pretty!
The tall ships are coming this weekend to VA and I'm looking forward to
seeing them! Tina

I'm also hoping to locate some breeders who may have silkies or
ameraucanas for sale that we can pickup on the I95 route when we
head home. I'm a mom on a mission, :) trying to find nice chicks for
my daughter who also happens to be disabled. Tina

Jocelyn, if you told us where you are located, I forgot. (I forget a lot of stuff.)

I just remembered. There's a small feed store close to the unemployment office in Hauppauge. Hmmmm. Guess where I'll be spending my summer?

I spent the afternoon cleaning up the yard, then hung out with the girls for awhile. I sat in the doorway to the coop and they came over and clucked at me. I love those girls!

I'm gonna wear my new "My name is Suzanne..." t-shirt to my AA meeting tonight! They'll get a kick out of that.

P.S. Who's gonna teach me how to quilt??
I live in Centereach (Suffolk) exit 62 on LIE. I don't mind driving in to Nassau for a Central get together spot if that helps us include more people. And quilting is as hard or as easy as you want to make it. If you are really interested, check out your library sometimes they offer classes or have a quilting hour where other people who quilt can help you out. I always just did simple square patchwork type stuff, easy breezy. The stores even sell pre-cut squares that match so you can simply jump in.

I'm at exit 63, and a few more live close as well! I'm always ready for a get together. I used to quilt, I also crochet when I have some spare moments.

Oh yeah, Hi. I'm Rosie! Welcome!

Ugh 67F outside. 79F in my room probably because of
the 2 incubators and the brooder lamp. Think I'm gonna
turn the brooder lamp off for a bit. Can't turn on AC don't
want my incubator to go haywire and kill my chicks.
