Wow, Carolyn! That is one heck of a setup.

Roberta, the sinuses are a little better this morning but that pesky headache is still there. Thanks for asking.

Going out to work. All of you have a great day.

Exactly. In NY I suppose they are trying to protect original species from those being freed/let loose that are from other regiopns. Maybe food competition etc.
I think bob whitesare basically it for local types quail.Gotta get my books out and check.

Huh, interesting, thank you!

It's so funny how these regs get written and what is considered domesticated, indigenous, etc. I mean, last time I checked chickens weren't even originally a North American animal, and various quail species are. And it's not like many laying quail were snatched from the wild, but have been raised for a while as an egg-providing bird. Ah well.

Welcome!

Yeah, I need to go outside and round up all the prospects for next weeks show. I need to go over them, look for broken feathers, scabs, file toenails, etc.
And start the pre-bathing process. UGH, I don't know what posseses me to put myself through this.
Oh yeah, now I remember...

This is my Pee Wee, isn't he handsome?

He is adorable Roberta. I had omne I called named Shorty who now resides with a woman and lives a spoiled rotton life. He was quite the ladies man. My brother and I hatched out some nice seramas a few years back.

Good news! I you remember 3 weeks back I'd mentioned I had a broody Silkie I just couldn't break of it. Well I'd given up and got some fertile eggs shipped out fast. This morning on the 21st day....I now see 1 giant cochin has hatched out!! 3 more I candled last week were developing so wish me lotsa luck. 2 Turkens and another Cochin due. I am thrilled. Lost one of my dogs last week and I needed this lift for sure.

Congrats, mags!

Wish I could hatch a couple of my own. We did ducklings in the school for a couple of years so I got to experience it. But then they have to go back...

This is my favorite picture from duck hatching 2 years ago.

Great news! When I got home this morning, Gladys ran across the yard to greet me. I guess she's forgiven me for the whole lockdown thing. Either that or she knew I'd been to Agway...

Hi Rich, I missed this post yesterday. I think you have a great idea. I can't even remember my own name half the time.

Do you know how to put a sticky up at the beginning of the thread, cause I have no idea? Might be something the moderators have to do.

Al

Al, I think you can simply edit your original post to add the info.

welcome all new members to byc. We lived in Baldwin for 17 years. Really nice run set up. The ducks hatching pic is so cute the way the little guy is sleeping on the egg. Dont do it Maggie!
