wait since when am I a BYC friend? lol
Same thing happened to me. Someone nominated you. And they won't tell you who.
I helped out when they did the transfer to the new site and that may have been how I got mine.

I always thank my girls for their eggs. I tell myself it honors them to eat their eggs, although we don't eat eggs as often as we used to...I feel weird eating eggs from a chicken I know : /
I hope I get over this cause it was the best egg
I ever ate, but it's sitting in my tummy like a lead weight
cause it came from my pet. Ugh.

all about how unhealthy grocery store eggs are if only because of the way they are packed - forget the rest of it. I honestly can't bring myself to order eggs out anymore, like at a coffee shop or diner, since I know where those eggs come from versus where mine come from. I find I eat less eggs than before, and I truly enjoy the ones I do get.
I make the girls say "Thank you ladies!" whenever we collect the eggs, and we act like it is their gift to us in return for the food, snacks and cuddles we give them.Like for instance, today they got to eat the shells of about 2 lobsters after I broke out the meat. They were ecstatic, as was I, since it meant they were eating plenty of calcium.
A big rubber chicken as a hat? Bah-I'll bet SO many other groups will do that. Gotta think of something original. Glue a chicken to our shoulder and wear an eye patch!Just want everyone to know that the Chicken Fairy Godmother, Roberta, has come through for me again. My troublesome hen, "Necklace", is now living at Roberta's place and apparently that smart alek hen is throwing her weight around there too. Hope the flock there will teach her a thing or two about the consequences of being a bully. Roberta is my HERO!
And so now I am definitely ready to take in a couple of new point-of-lay pullets. Looking for blue-egg layers. Marek's vaccinated. If anyone here knows of a likely source, please let me know. I wonder if the Queens County Fair might have some... It's set for September 22 and 23 and is not too far from me, so I think DH and I will be there.
Maybe all the BYC members that are in this Southern New York thread who show up there can wear something big and distinctive so we can find each other to meet and say Hello? Red bandanna around our necks? Blue helium balloon floating above each one of us? Name tags with both our BYC member name and our real first name?
Whatcha think?
