My (good) neighbor has a roo that came from Agway.
But since the complainer has moved in, I don't even hear him crowing anymore.
I guess I'll have to get even and start breeding beagles.

Why is it the city folk move out to the country, and don't like roosters?

No clue. I am originally from the city, and I love everything "farm". In this mornings Newsday they have an article about farms and farmland on the east end of the North fork. Excellent article on the farmers, what they keep (These are livestock farms) and where they got the land. I'm glad Long Island is coming back to farming.

Beagles and Chihuahuas. They'll be begging for roosters after a month. Are you allowed to have Roosters? Your town is considered Riverhead, not Brookhaven, right? If you are allowed, you should put a note in their mailbox telling them, the law is you can have them, and you think there's a law against being a jerk in your town.

My idiot neighbor has his dog outside all night, barking up a storm, and has the temerity to complain about my husbands bike when he leaves for work at 6am. the police laughed in his face.

That's why I listen to my chickens very carefully, if anyone crows, he's OUTTA HERE! We're really not allowed roosters. Code enforcement is very serious here too.

LOLOL......I hear ya!
I have 1 neighbor who told me he has moved 4 X in the past 10 years because he didn't like his neighbors. Well this guy is a pain in the arse and takes down/removes/cuts anything green he can because he's afraid of bugs/falling trees and weeds/vines.
I'd asked him WHY did you move to this area if he didn't like trees?????????????????
He talked the previous owner of my old house into taking down 4 enormous healthy trees which created shade on my house and others..... The neighbors all hate him because of that and he was ostracized. He doesn't give a hoot. He just clears/cuts/cleans out the greenery as he likes.
