Southern NY, Dutchess county and below

In my house cabbage is either turned into stuffed cabbage , cole slaw , or a buttered pepper cabbage. I will only eat it the last way. Luckily it's simple..I chop up half a head and sauté it with fresh garlic a little cracked pepper and around four tablespoons butter. Occasionally I do this with napa cabbage and fry up some Chinese noodles....yum. With all this cold weather...stuffed cabbage is a great plan. Cabbage soup with a ham Bone is delicious as well.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day :)

That sounds so good, I'm going out to buy cabbage! The words, "saute", "butter", "garlic" and "pepper" make any recipe sound good. Except maybe chocolate cake...

I like my cabbage Italian style... saute onions or shallots in the fat rendered from sausage, bacon, or pancetta, saute garlic, then saute cabbage, toss with farfalle, then season with salt and pepper (and/or red pepper flakes, oregano, basil, etc). Top with some parmesan or romano. You could make it vegetarian, omit the meat and saute in butter to replace some of the lost flavor.

Did anyone get CL eggs yet?

I've got my eye on eBay
12+ blue eggs shipping from NC
Nice looking parent birds

Some nice looking birds from CA but
I think that's too far to get shipped eggs from ??

Anyways I'm just watching them right now

I'm kinda worried if I hatch them, I'll have chicks
In my bedroom ALL winter. I can't really do that.

I'm also thinking we need eggs from 2 diff places
so CFG and JersyHen will have a more diverse
breeding stock. Lol.

Ok thoughts anyone.

The 12+ eggs from WI look good too.
Hmmm

Oh my dream man is on the news right now.
A billionaire with a $200K chicken coop.
It looks like a mansion with columns and stuff.

The news is bashing him 'what could be the
biggest waste of money of all time"

Needlest to say, the news reporter is NOT my
dream guy. Snot nosed banker type dude.

I had to look this up on the web and I found an overwrote article - http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentis...ance-crispin-odey-chicken-house?newsfeed=true

Too funny! I don't think it's a waste at all. Looks like it'd be very easy to keep clean. Who wouldn't want a nice stone floor for their coop?
