If anyone hatches out chicks, the Mareks vaccine is only like $20.
I have a bottle on order, and can buy another as a backup.
Keeps in the fridge.
I think I may start vaccinating all my birds.
Waiting to see what this bug is.

Suzanne... She needs to rent out rooms. To the RIGHT people.
I know it's hard to think about. One of my friends is going thru a divorce right now, and will need a place to live.
I'm sure the good ones are out there.
Is there enough room for chickens in the yard?

I'm nervous about giving it. Although I did have to
inject mice in college. Never thought that skill would
come in handy.

I just booked the Enfield, CT Red Roof.  They claim it's only 8 miles to the Big E.
For $60. a nite, I'll drive a few miles. And everything they say is close by, I remember passing last year.

It is really close, and much safer than Springfield.

Rosie, he had a huge pen and a Burbon red tom overseeing his ladies of a few different varieties! He was so stately.
My friend took an eastern wild type and he had 1 more youngster left. A couple of months old. You shoulda seen his pea hens! OMGAWD beautiful....so beautiful and noisy along with all his guinee birds.LOL I will give him my blue orp roo as he has a nice pen of them and will take him. I might bring home another lavender as she is so pretty. Also has polish breeding pens of white crested black and goldens Jerseyhen.

The wine with a rooster on it is "47 lb Rooster" and it is actually an ok wine for being so inexpensive. We discovered that one while we were living in CA and shopping at Trader Joe's a lot.

Count me in on the cream legbars. I have room for 2 - 3 pullets and a rooster. Then I can give everyone fertile eggs for hatching... just like the ameraucanas that should be laying fertile eggs soon. I also can provide Barred Rock and Dark Brahma eggs. I am not NPIP or otherwise certified... I can say that my flock seems to have cleared whatever was bothering them at the end of the summer. We think they got into a pile of poisoned hornets from two nests that were exterminated. 2 of the 4 that got sick recovered.

Just got back from volunteering at my CSA.
Visited with mr speckles the blue splash Orpington
Roo the adopted from me. He is so beautiful and huge.
I miss him but at least I can visit him. He has like 30
girlfriends.

This guy in NJ keeps pheasants and chickens and turkeys together in some of his larger pens. He said he hasn't ever had a case of that nasty black head. And they all live together beautifully. He did say that turkey does try to mount his chicken hens.LOL What a man!

He is so dog darn BIG and he was gobbling away and talking to me. I fell in love with his funny face I sure did.
