Southern NY, Dutchess county and below

Yes Rosie, it sure is a foggy gloomy day down here as well. Cooking and cleaning sounds like a good plan. A nap sounds even better.
Well, my 20 minute power nap is now behind me-onto conquer laundry and vacuuming! CHARGE!!!!

Today I got a $15 refund on my eggs because the hens
didn't lay any extras. They still shipped me the 9 eggs
the auction was for. Wow I thought that was very nice.

So now I have $15 in my PayPal account which has
me looking at more eggs. NO.

Cant seem to drag myself out of bed today.
So much to do. Have to clean the cat box, laundry,
clean the coop and pen, set up my small
chicken hutch for the broody to set on the eggs.
Scrub algae out of the aquarium. Cook a ton of
veggies from my CSA. Ugh.
At least I got my incubator set up and running
for 2 days now. It's nice and stable. I love my brinsea.
Didn't even have to adjust the temp settings. If only
my other chores were as easy.

I think we are all in the same boat today. So gloomy and yuk, no-one wants to move or do much of anything. Bleh.

The egg-eating stopped though, in the "good news" category

Toxic: Do you know what Greenfire lines your eggs are coming from? A, B or C? I am calling Greenfire today to learn a little more about their lines.
Stoopid:  Lindsey and I would be happy to lend a hand, if you want help vaccinating. May I ask if you are NPIP? If not, how do you get 90 Pullorium testing done for the shows you attend? I'd like to get CL's from Toxic, but if we must become NPIP in order to show birds, then I won't be able to get the CL's. Not sure what to do.....

According to greenfires website the non related line C won't be
for sale Untill 2013. The one breeder got hers as soon as they
were available so, A line? The second breeder just got them in
Jan 2012 so hers (from what I read on greenfires site) should be
a mix of A and B line. Unfortunately they didn't tell either breeder
what line they got.

I am not NPIP, just a small backyard flock, Untill I can move.

Is Roberta NPIP? If so I can give her one set of eggs to hatch
( if she's interested in doing so ) she lives like 10 minutes from me.
Or would it not matter cause the eggs shipped to my address not
a NPIP one. I have no idea how it works.

Just a thought.

I'm having the perfect day. I've been in bed since 11:30 with a migraine. Complete will chills, nausea and stroke-level headache. I got some water down, but I was unable to eat. I took the chance and swallowed a couple of ibuprofen and the pain has receded somewhat. I'm going to try a hot shower next. I'm supposed to be tutoring in a couple of hours. Must eat something.

Fortunately, before it got bad I got the coop cleaned out and the canning finished. And a phone call to unemployment.

Oh and I did sign up for the crochet square swap. Here's the link again: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/710577/fall-crochet-block-swap-sign-ups-until-oct-15th

Anyone else interested? It should make a gorgeous afghan.

Toxic: Please update us on your nephew... since your note, I have been thinking about my two nieces who both died in unrelated, freak car accidents within the last 3 years....one was 19 and the other was 25 years old.
I would like Cream Legbars if they lay blue eggs....We've got EE's that lay green eggs and really prefer blue layers. Do you know what Greenfire lines your eggs are coming from? A, B or C? I am calling Greenfire today to learn a little more about their lines.

Dahli: Did you get your necropsy results?
Smkchk: So glad your mom decided to move. May good things happen for her.
All: Lindsey and I may attend the Poultry Congress. I would normally jump on the bandwagon, since we enjoy these type of events.. We've even been to the Equine Affaire at the Big E in the past. However, I'm feeling disappointed, frustrated and aggravated with the process of purchasing from breeders right now. It might annoy me even further if we go to the show. I don't want to start whining, but like an idiot, a couple of weeks ago I gave another breeder a huge deposit on birds....and haven't seen them yet (***supposed to be shipped last week). And, the other breeder (from this summer) hasn't replied to my contacts about replacement birds. She may be ill again, so I'm hoping she gets back to me real soon.
My friend says that I should put a "kick me" sign on my back...
Littlecritters, Still waiting on the MG results and should hear this week. I'm starting to doubt there is a problem at this rate though. The rest of the necropsy was perfectly normal, no issues but a tiny bit of swelling in the respiratory tract. No coccidia or anything else unusual at all. Maybe I'm just paranoid! That's what I'm hoping anyway. I just wish that Cornell would hurry.. lol
Toxic: So sorry your nephew is in this situation!! Sending good thoughts to your family.. Hoping everything works itself out.
I'm also interested in the CL.. Just need to figure out which line, assuming the MG test comes back negative.

I'm sorry if I've overlooked anything important here.. this thread moves so fast it's hard to keep up!!!!

Been so busy working on coops and pens and whatnot but am making good progress so I really cannot complain. And aside from the one chick who is sneezing (but no other symptoms of any kind!) everyone is totally healthy. Knock on wood.
